Clutch spring removal? Am I the only one that it's not easy for?

I wondered what was so tricky about the clutch in these cars. I popped my clutch spring out today. Took less than five minutes. Took it for a spin. Wow you can actually feel the clutch engage now. It does engage differently. Feels like a real clutch. 50 years of driving cars with a clutch and my GT was tricky. Now it isn't.

Whose idea was it to put a spring there? What does the Steeda spring add to the feel of the clutch?

Had mine out and new perch and spring back in less than 5 minutes. Clutch feels like it should have factory.
