Slotted and Drilled and Air Cooled!!!!

I had the rotors and a cold air cooling kit form JLT installed this weekend. The kit deletes the mostly useless fog lights and replaces them with slick looking black bezels that allow you to attach heavy duty hoses that then run to plates installed behind the rotors. More pics to come...

A Lick of Paint!

While the cold air kit and the rotors were being installed I took the calipers home and threw some paint on them. I did a TON of research to find a paint that would mimic the look of the ruby red. It came out awesome!!!

Here are the paints I used. They are all high temp paints good up to 500 degrees F. If I was to do it again I would use an additional can of color and clear...

Here the calipers are prepped and primed. Allow for at least a couple of hours for disassembly and tape. The tape is a huge part as you don't want paint getting into the mechanical pieces of the caliper. It is not required that you prime with this paint, but as the calipers have a rough surface and I wanted to use some prime to help build up over that rough surface to leave a smooth finish...

You want to get the paint on pretty thick without it running. Like I mentioned, I would have used another can to touch up the fronts, and put another heavy coat on the rears, if I would have had one...

Here is a look at the caliper just after the tape was removed, before it was cleaned, sanded, touched up, and re-assembled...

Here is a look at the final product, albeit in crappy shop lighting. I am extremely happy with how they came out. They are not perfect, but they are damn good for a garage paint job!

Plumbing

This is the route and the outlet for the JLT cold air brake setup. I will add a pic of the inlet when I can get a shot of it in decent light so you can see the inside of the tube as it makes its way through the facia.

Brandon just wanted to tell you your car is looking sweet. I love the Ruby Red and thought about getting that myself, but I told myself after my last red Mustang and ALL the attention I received from the wrong people (cops), that it probably was not a good idea. Love the color though! Your mods our great. Keep up the original and great work.

Thank you Chris! It does get a lot of attention--my previous S197 was tungsten and it was super slick, but hardly ever got noticed lol. I am a big fan of the ingot cars though--when they get polished up they almost look chrome.

I appreciate the encouragement. These cars are a lot of work if you want them to look right and perform right!
