NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

I have a couple of questions on the non-nav update. I downloaded the non-nav file and extracted the first part to a folder on my laptop, then copied and pasted it to the USB drive. Will this work of do I need to extract the files directly to the USB? Also, can I do the software update without the new USB port installed? I think I can but apple carplay won't work until I get the new USB hub installed. Does anyone know if this is correct? thanks...

For NON-Nav, do exactly as the 'read me' states, your USB will ONLY contain (2) items:
auto install FILE
SYNC My Ride FOLDER

The above applies to only the NON-Nav update but for BOTH the 1st USB load and the 2nd USB load. First pass you have only those 2 items on your USB (part 1), install into SYNC, after it completes, remove the USB and reformat USB. Load Part 2 update onto USB and then install into SYNC... done.

Hey guys. I have a 2016 with Nav so can someone please tell me which downloads I need and in what order as I am stupid when it comes to all this but I really would like the update for Android.

Can someone help with a quick answer please ? Is the Hub Port only required for people that want to use Apple Car Play or do I need to also buy it for Android ?
