MAF almost dialed in. Still adding 1-2% fuel and needs 2-3% more around 6500 RPMs where it jumps lean to 0.87 lambda (commanded is 0.85) right where the CJ comes on hard. 68* and humid this morning.

Not a lot of room around here to even get to the top of first lol. I used to live in the country where I could do 3-4 pulls. 66* and dry this morning 70* iats and I'm at sea level. 56lbs/min and still adding a little fuel. This was the second MAF revision since I added the CJ. This is the top of second gear.

Have you tuned the VCT since you added the CJ manifold to your setup? Saw you were self tuning.

Terminator2 check your tune parameters out, i had the same issue chasing a lean condition up top and was seeing absurdly high maf flow numbers as well....because youre kicking the period value up but not directly affecting the actual fueling....it took a couple revisions before i realized i was headed down a rabbit hole

Hi there

Car is back to stock, so back to optimising the stock air box.
- 44.77lbs flow: Stock air box modified, K&N Filter, Carbon trap removed, sound tube delete, velossa, honey comb delete and Lund tune. UK car so RHD headers with limited flow!

Very impressed that once you do all the mods to the stock air box it flows practically as well as the best CAI's with the advantage of RAM AIR and lower IAT's.

I only see the need for a CAI if you do a intake manifold upgrade and maybe headers, otherwise if your just gonna do a tune, forget CAI and mod the stock air box to flow better. The mod that yielded the best flow gain was removing the carbon/emissions ham sandwich thing that sits in the top of the air box, which is great as cost to remove this is ZERO. :)

Did you grind out anything or just remove the pad?

Yes ground and smoothed off with a dremel.
Looks like I have something to do today after work. I have the tube from Mishimoto too that I may remove and just go back to stock. I don't like that it doesn't allow flex so doing something simple as changing air filter is a headache.

I have a Mishi tube, to be frank I did not think much too it. I think all it does is shift the power curve or add a bit torque down low, the result was the car felt flat up top with it, probably was not but I prefer the car to accelerate in a linear fashion.

In flow testing, compared to stock it seems around 0.2-0.4lbs less than the stock tube, in short I think it does little to nothing, so I removed it too.

Be interesting to hear your feedback on what you think before/after the mishi tube.
