Is the GT350 Flex tune perfected or still a work in progress? I have yet to see any reviews or discussion.

Might be a silly question, but so I understand better, this is an accessport that remaps the ECU? If I plan to run 93octane (E10) fuel, does it only have the one map or are their variants?
Nice gains from a simple ECU tune though. Will seriously consider it once I get my '17 GT350. Thanks.

From what I've read the factory tune will adjust for up to 95 octane. Any higher or switching to E85 would require an aftermarket tune. BTW, I believe this voids your warranty if your concerned about that.

100 octane unleaded race gas doesn't require any special tune. It simply eliminates detonation and, hence, knock retard.

The ecu is reprogrammed with an Ngauge, which performs the same function as the Accessport. I don't pretend to know how it works but it enables the ecu to compute the percentage of ethanol in the fuel and adjust the various performance parameters accordingly. If you never plan to run more than e10 you don't need the flex feature. Seeing as how the only premium I can get is 91 I love being able to run a higher ethanol percentage.

I'll take your word for this, I'm an old fart and I can tune the hell out of a Holley double pump and read a plug but I'm no FI genius, lol. I understand that the higher the octane the more advance you can run without knock but thought I'd read that the factory fuel map had limits.

Edit: I guess I missed the fact that he was not talking about a factory tune. With an aftermarket tune I guess it would all depend on how the program handled it.

According to a guy at Lund the tune has the spark advanced under load capped. I think he said it was at 30 degrees but he may have said 28. He said they found 93 octane allows this maximum timing, ie. no knock retard. The ecu won't advance timing beyond this regardless of octane. Factory tune is likely similarly capped. Ethanol increases power due to its other virtues.

Thanks, this makes sense.

Got my nGauge and flex tune sitting on my counter now. Waiting for my headers to arrive and JLT intake before I throw it on :))

"Hoping" to get 75+ hp gain at the wheels from headers, high flow catted X pipe, cold air intake, Lund tune and E85. Especially since I'm only running 91 now.

I'll let you all know what my experience with the flex fuel Lund tune is when I get it on. But my results won't be from stock to tuned due to the headers, and intake going on the same time.

I have the Lund FF tune. It is excellent, especially considering our normal pump gas is 91.
