The tailpipe section (common for all Solo GT exhausts), J-Pipe, "ball-joint", reinforced hangers... J-Pipe (if needed) can be adjusted by releasing the clamp and adjusting it's length... (kinda like a trumpet I guess :-) )
The center resonator/muffler is similar to the stock suitcase design, except it seems that it is 3 inches all the way through. I would also be interested in how the system sounds.
I have seen/heard the unedited video. It sounds nice and deep. Though on the unedited video it is difficult to determine the volume level. I believe that it is just a high quality microphone as you can hear a lot of road noise and can hear the car from a loong way off.
"I have never seen this technology anywhere else. It is basically a J shaped pipe on the tailpipe near the end, capped on the other end. Sound waves enter the J, bounces back from the cap and cancel out certain frequencies upon returning to the tailpipe in a different phase. The exhaust is tuned for the Coyote engine, also adjustable if needed. The adjustment seems simple enough, release the clamp, adjust the length of the J section (thus the timing/phase the bounced sound waves), drive around and listen, fine tune, done. Frankly I have never ever tried to adjust it, worked as came from Solo. They explained to me that usually 24 out of 25 cars do not need any adjustment, but if there is that one which may need it, it’s easy to done even at home."
Hey Rudy, good info. You know I saw this "J-Pipe" design used once before a 7th Gen Maxima exhaust and that system sounded great for a V6, nice and deep sounding. Never saw anything like it until I this CB.
OMG.......I love the sound/tone of these! They seem to hold their low muscle car tone throughout the RPM range which is the first I've heard that can do this without getting tinny, raspy, or high-pitched through the higher RPM's and that includes the Borlas, and Corsa's!
