I used to drive a................:lol::lol: Right the joke writes itself.
And it was far far tidier than my first car...a mk2 Escort that leaked like a sieve. I trump you on credibility though ;)

He drives an exhaust?
Haha!

Yes I get the jokes for having Corsa exhaust, as here in the UK a Corsa is a car made by Vauxhall (GM), its like a small hot hatch which has a street cred of being owned by chavs who think its better than anything else.

Actually an OK car, just got a bad stigma, like Citreon Saxo VTS of the 90s which was also great fun but got bad street cred.

Nothing wrong with a Corsa Steve. I just added that as a closing comment.
My point is that NOONE especially a total stranger has the right to slag off a car he probably couldn't even insure AND call me a liar.

It would be the same if I walked up to a total stranger getting out of his Focus ST and telling him his car is shit because he hasn't got an RS!! In fact it's actually not as bad because I have one:lol::lol:

Haven't had anyone criticise engine choice. Had many comments about Mustangs only going in a straight line though. Do wish they would call the engine something other than Ecoboost though. I normally state that the engine is a 2.3 turbo with over 300bhp & that it is also used in the Focus RS - most are impressed with that.

Wasn't criticising his choice of car; merely saying that even if he'd applied some questionable styling options I still wouldn't insult him because of it. Once had a VX Nova SR as a courtesy car when my Cavalier was in for service and it was superb :D

I don't understand the problem some have with non-V8 Mustangs. Mustang has always had engine choices yet they've always been Mustangs. I waited on mine for over 20 years and although I wanted a GT I originally spoke to the dealer about the Eco as it ticked all the boxes. Before I left the showroom however some of those boxes had vanished and I ordered the GT.

Me too, if anyone ask's "what's that got under the bonnet" I say it's a 2.3 Turbo. :D

EcoBoost suggests to me EcoPower, a branding Saab used in the late 90's for their light-pressure turbo cars. Which was marketing BS because they were no more fuel efficient than the full pressure turbo cars.

Blame the motoring journalists like Chris Harris for this. As for the Rory Reid review on the Top Gear TV show making statements like "personality bypass" when referring to the EB ... absolute load of horse s***!!

There was an awful lot of "The GT is the one you're gonna want to get" in the media. If you don't do a lot of miles/someone else pays your motoring costs/money is no object then fair enough but ffs is 300+ hp not enough for the everyday motorist? And don't get me started on Rory Reid!

Courtesy of Hagerty Insurance and what many miss when commenting on the Mustang is what it was originally intended to represent in 1964 -

The design brief for the Mustang was simple, requiring that five objectives be met:

- Seat four and have bucket seats

- Include a floor-mounted shifter

- Weigh no more than 2,500 pounds (1,100 kg) and be no more than 180 inches (4,572 mm) in length

- Sell for less than $2,500, base price

- Have multiple power, comfort and luxury options

Ford’s clarity of message and design with this product was of such a high level that it is still astounding. The Mustang was a car designed to maximize your enjoyment of life and it didn’t matter if you couldn’t afford a top-shelf V-8 or not, all trims of this car were quick, sporty and let you enjoy freedom with your friends. The democracy of the Mustang is what makes it so intrinsically American.

It doesn't have a v8? but it has more horsepower than a 197 v8... Ok then ;)!

The logic people have is flawless, but i dothink it stems from it's torrid name

I'm sure if it had been badged as the "Mustang ST" the hot hatch Barries would love it.
