Stock wheels are 30 pounds which is absolutely absurd for a car like this. Looking for Forgestar or similar quality wheels that are 20 or so pounds. Not interested in eBay wheels or no-name brands.

Anyone had any luck finding wheels such as this? Surprised this forum is this quiet on this topic.

Forgeline makes some great wheels in custom fitment to suit your needs. Thread somewhere in this forum with great info.

I went with matte titanium GS1R in R-spec (20 pounds) with PSC2 tires and smiling since then!

The Forgelines are beautiful. I'm shopping for something like what the OP is talking about but just not at $6500/set. Been looking real hard at BC Forged. They have monoblock forged wheels for less than half the price in the lower 20# range. The 6GR's could maybe fit the bill too, I just don't care for them.

Forgestar isn't Forged so just a heads up on that.

To answer your question, yes we can easily make a 20lbs wheel for you, and that works out because If you're looking for a reputable wheel brand, we've been in business nearly 40 years making the worlds top tier custom made to order Forged wheels in the industry. Since you're requesting lightweight wheels around 20lbs, I'd like to introduce you to the HRE R101 wheel which can fill that gap for you:

Our Forged wheels are custom cut to order, so you can specify the exact offset you'd like, or we can work with you based on our recommendations as well. We'll back up what we produce with a Lifetime Structural Warranty and a 2-year finish Warranty.

What Flowform said about Forgesta, that is 100% true. They're rotary spun only. I don't regret my purchase at all but if you want fully forged wheels at that 20 - 21lb mark, you're gonna shell out some coin and a half. I'm not in a position to do that right now.

Can you provide a ballpark price range for the HRE R101 you mentioned that fit the GT350? Since the best of the best wheel is cost prohibitive for some, it helps in determining what concessions one may need to make. I am in the midst of this decision-making process now.

Yep, our wheels are 100% custom made to order which means we can customize width, offset, colors, and so forth and tailor make a set specific to the vehicle you're ordering for.

You're exactly right, the best of the best is going to cost money. If we're the Ferrari or Lamborghini of wheel brands, it shouldn't be a surprise that our prices are higher than others.

By forum rules I can't post a price publicly but I'll send you a PM. If anyone else wants to know price, just PM me since I can't post it in the thread.

I've never understood why prices can't be disclosed. It's just a huge hassle for both buyer and seller.

Lots of options out there. What designs are you looking at, widths, budget, etc?

There are not nearly as many available as there are for the rest of the S550 platform. The quality forged wheels from most of the manufacturers tend to look alike as well, though there are notable exceptions. Definitely won't use a cheap cast wheel as that gains nothing, but nice light weight rims that don't break the bank are few. I've been shopping for a couple of months and only found one or two I like in the $3000 range for fully forged wheels.

Appreciate everyone's input.

I am OK with Forgestars technology as I know Vette and M3 guys who beat the hell out of theirs around the track.

To answer others questions, looking for stock sizes, 23-23 pounds is fine. I'm searching for the wheels mentioned in this thread and getting zero hits using forum search. My budget is $3k max, anymore than that is pretty silly on a Mustang.

Honestly, with a car of this weight and grip level at the track, I personally would only go with the Forgelines as they are both light and very strong. If primarily street driven, other options mentioned are fine.

Plus you get the option of having 18 inch wheels, which will probably negate the advantages of the 2 lbs/wheel lighter CF wheels.

Forgelines on mine. I am sure if the wheels are kept in good shape you could easily recover 50-70% of the wheel cost if you decided to sell 'em.
