Hmmmm gets me wondering what aftermarket exhaust options that are designed for the GT (Corsa Extreme being the main one) will sound like on our sixxers.
Damn interest in those double xpipes

Sounds pretty darn good! Careful with additions to this though, it gets pretty raspy with an X pipe.

As long as you keep the cats on, rasp with x pipe is minimal. I love the sound of the x pipe. I noticed a small bump in power too

That actually sounds pretty nice. Would sound real good with headers. Makes me want to track one down locally lol

The stock GT mufflers get very tinny and raspy w/o the stock resonator at high rpm.

Yes, I used the stock clamps. All I did to install the GT catback was unblots the clamps from the flex pipe, unbolt the hangers from the body. Dropped the V6 exhaust. Then installed the hangers on the GT muffler and bolted it up. No mods, nothing.

No freeway drone! So far this exhaust seems to have a perfect balance, at least for me. I nice throaty sound on startup, a low deep tone on idle, a nice deep rev through the rpm range and loud enough on the top end to let people know you mean business.

Isn't the downpipe, to the resonator, from a GT 2 1/2 inches while the v6 pipes are 2 1/4 inches? If so how did you get by without a reducer of some type. Or is the downpipe for the v8 also 2 1/4 like the v6. What this means is that the asking price for the take offs is gonna go up.:(

If there's anyone near Atlanta that wants to do this swap, I'd be willing to donate my stock GT cat-backs to the cause.

The gt has 2.25" where the pipes meet the cat pipes, everything else is 2.5"

Make a post in your local chapters regional forum and ask if any GT owner has their stock catback exhaust getting in the way. That's what I did and I had a response in about 5 minutes asking me to come pick the exhaust up.

Even though V6 owners may now be trying to scoop these up, I don't think GT owners will be charging much for them. Afterall, there's a lot more GT's on the road than V6's. If you can't find one right now, it's only a matter of time until another GT owner replaces their stock exhaust.
