Right now i have a set of MT et street SS in 305/35/20 which are basically a 29" tall tire.. The car dead hooks and goes but i cant get better than a 1.70 60'. I have a 3:73 diff going in this coming weekend. I know my 20x10 targa m130 wheels are heavy and part of the issue but will going to a 17x8 wheel with a 275/40/17 (26") tall tire help me? Im pretty sure the 29" tire and the car having 3:15 gears right now is what is causing my bad 60'.

Would going to 3:73 AND a smaller tire get my 60' into the 1.5's?

mods are: Circle d 5C stall.....full exhaust...PMAS cai Lund tune.

right now my best et is 12.2@111 mph with a 1.705 60'.

thanks!!

29" tire with 3.15's certainly isn't helping since you have an NA car. It should go much better with just the gears. I would wait and see before getting new tires

If the whole nitrous shortage wasnt going on i would throw a kit on it. I just cant help but to think that a smaller tire would help a ton too.

A smaller tire with the 3.73's might be overboard.

The 3.73's are going to be detrimental as they'll more than likely force a shift into 4th gear dropping you out of your powerband. I would go with a shorter tire but something is definitely not right. My 60' was 1.5 with a 4C converter and 3.15's.

Could there be some form of torque limiting happening? Are you launching with all the assists turned off? On the driver side under the hood near the airbox there is a connector that if you disconenct a whole mess of lights will turn on in the dash but there won't be any assists on the car. I don't know if that would disable a torque limit though that might be a tuning issue. Just tossing a few ideas out there.
