Took mine off with a pick to. Done in 10 minutes; 2 minutes of it was leaving the car for a bit because I farted.
Ditto here. It took me more time to disconnect and reconnect the battery than to change the button. Kudos to CJPP for the video. Bill rocks.

Best way to remove that start button is to drill a small hole in the centre, then insert a 90 deg pick and pull straight out no chance of damage to the trim.

When I replaced the button I was anticipating that it would be more difficult than the video suggests. It ended up being easier than I thought. I used an angled pick with tape wrapped around it and just worked it carefully. I also did it with my keys far enough away so I would not have to disconnect the battery. No issues, except for the cost of a little piece of plastic.

Do you just get the pick behind the 2:00 position and yank?
or do you have to try and slide the pick around to the 10:00 and 4:00 positions to release the clips?

I'm hoping mine falls into the "easier than expected" category, but that's rarely my luck!

good tip on just keeping the key fob out of range!

I was able to get it off of there just by working the pick in the 1:00 or 2:00 position. The trim doesn't really allow you to get over to 10or 4 without risking damage.

I will say that the original button sustained some damage during the operation but I didn't care. It's never going back on anyway.

If you're not worried about breaking the tabs, just yank. That's what I did, and the clips didn't break anyway.

Everything CJ's does in video always looks easier than it is in reality... at least that's been my experience on my car.
