Has anyone found a UK insurance company showing details for the Mustang yet?

I have looked on a few sites e.g. confused.com etc and I have had to use a 2014 model and say it wasn't imported and its RHD to see what sort of qoute I would get lol

Wondered if anyone has found out from their current insurers what it would cost?

Very interested in this as when I was thinking of getting a 2010 Mustang only one of the 20 odd companies that I contacted would quote me and the price was eye watering, even as a 2nd car with very limited miles.

I'm in my 50s with decades of NCB and no claims, convictions etc but live in London with car parked in an open car park.

I'm hoping this was down to it being an import.

Being an import and where you were planning to park it may have had a big affect on the quote.

It would be nice to know so that we can make sure everything is affordable. I will be turning 30 when the car is estimated to arrive (end of the year so 30th birthday present to myself) and I have a clean slate with 5+yrs NCB and would 12 years of driving. Car will be parked in residential private parking, so away from the roads etc.

Doing a quote on confused.com using the 2014 Mustang GT and changing it to RHD and not imported, the cheapest fully comprehensive quote I got was £700, which for my age and the V8 I am pretty happy with and would be happy to pay that for the new mustang. Hoping it will come down from that though when using the 2015 for the quote....

Won't be able to get a true reflection until the car hits our insurance databases, and it wont do that until its been through type approval & is on the DVLA database, etc, etc.
So many factors play into insurance you couldn't possibly even being to speculate how much it will cost.

Comparethemarket definitely dont have the correct Mustang models for the 2015 RHD.

  1. [1964-2015] Ford Mustang Auto, 4950CC Petrol, 2DR, Auto
  2. [1979-2015] Ford Mustang Ghia Auto, 2300CC Petrol, 2DR, Auto
  3. [1981-2015] Ford Mustang Ghia Auto, 3272CC Petrol, 2DR, Auto
  4. [1981-2015] Ford Mustang Ghia Turbo Auto, 2301CC Petrol, 2DR, Auto
  5. [2007-2015] Ford Mustang Gt, 4605CC Petrol, 2DR, Auto
  6. [1964-2015] Ford Mustang Gt Auto, 4736CC Petrol, 2DR, Auto
  7. [2007-2015] Ford Mustang Shelby Gt, 4605CC Petrol, 2DR, Auto

I have had a great approach to insurance regarding the Mustang.
I got a big bucket, filled it with sand and stuck my head in it. Its uncomfortable and I get some strange looks but it saves worrying about it.

Thanks, I did the same about MPG. I am thinking I may not get the same economy as I do from my A class diesel. Quick, where is my bucket!
Doing the exact same over here!!

hey folks, i'm sure others may have found this/posted it but it's not on this thread...
The Admiral website has the ecoboost in the db so you can get a quote :)
Mine came out at £900 (double what I normally pay), but I'm 28, only 5 years no claims & will be doing anything up to 15k miles.
I dread to think what the V8 would cost me! Bring on the EcoBoost :)

Just ran my details through the system, mine came out at £2,200 :eyebulge:

I'm hoping it gets onto comparison sites soon so I can get a range of quotes, because there's no way I can afford that

EDIT: Just got it down to £1,750 playing around with different names for my occupation.

I'm at £1550 age 23 car salesman 15000k miles not as bad as I thought it would be but could be better. The mustang will soon be on comparison sites just a matter of time.

Worrying that they only have the EB in their database. Maybe they don't intend to touch the V8.

I've just left Admiral after a few years as they wanted to load for Speed Awareness Course. Got me off my lazy arse and found the same cover for less than half the price.

Given we can get quotes on older V8 Mustangs I'd hope that insurers wouldn't be considering blanking the officially imported RHD ones, but as mentioned we probably won't know til its gone through the UK hoop-jumping process.
