Sorry for the stupid question, but how can I be sure of the version I have ?
Mine is a 2016 GT350 originally for Mexican market
I'm pretty sure it's Sync 2 but want to be sure I cannot get Apple CarPlay

I had a SYNC2 in my previous 2015 Ecoboost Mustang and now I have SYNC3 in my 2017 GT. Even though I usually don't give a crap about these things and just drive the damn car, I must say it's so much better, smoother, faster. Completely different level. No Apple Carplay tho for me, I guess I need another update or something?

I read somewhere on here that you need the version 2.2 of Sync 3 to have Carplay.

I paired or excuse me, sync'ed my Samsung and the 1st. time I entered the car without the phone my pony freaked out and I haven't tried but once unsuccessfully to get it back for phone calls. Sad, but I too, just enjoy "Drivingthisthing".
