guys, all four axle nuts use the same part number? CCPZ-3B477-F. Want to order all of them when I start doing the suspension upgrade.

thanks!!

BTW, are the bearings seals or can I pack them with better grease?

I'm surprised it's not a castle nut or safety wire setup...

The stock axle nut is "castled" but the axle isn't drilled for a cotter pin. I'm sure this nut is used on multiple platforms.

I noticed the inner diameter at the nose is slightly smaller and you can feel it bite the threads of the axle when you spin them on, giving them a "friction lock".

THIS IS THE OLD VERSION BELOW

That isn't a castle nut. It's a higher grade of lucknut. Nylock nuts with the plastic inserts are the low grade ones and all metal locknuts such as this one are used on grade 8 applications.

Of course a bit of loctite to ensure it stays put never hurts.

Going to check mine in the AM ... Got a vibration that I didn't have when I got the car .. Going to check tire balance also ... I only have 4000 miles on the car , can't see why a tire would be out of balance so quick ..Maybe it the axle nut or bearing .. My vibration starts at about 45 MPH and gets worse as I get up to 70 MPH ..

The front hub has a black plastic cap over the same area ... assume this tip only relates to the rear axle where the nut's are not covered?

It's not tires.

I don't think so , it has always been smooth Very smooth at 70 MPH .. This just happens on the last trip to the track ..I looked at my wheels and it looked like I have may tossed a weight on one wheel ..

Talking about a drive line problem try a shaftmasters alum shaft ..Mine would shake the fillings out of your teeth ..

Checked mine today with my new 32mm socket.
It wouldn't budge, tight as a drum.

My car was making all sort of weird noises until i found this thread! Thanks Kelly!
Mine was really lose and had to torque it to 150 lbs again.
Question though, do i really need a new nut or can i just put some red loctite on this one? All noises went away after tightening the nut

Glad it helped ya sir!

Clean the threads real good. Brush and brake cleaner.

Re install with red loctite - 150ftlbs. Should be fine.
