Hi guys,

I tried looking around but I don't think it's been asked before.

Does anyone know if the reversing camera can be tapped into to become a feed for a rear facing dash cam?

The looking-down angle isn't ideal, but if can be done relatively cheaply and easily, it's a nice addition :)

Thanks in advance!

The camera has 12v power anytime the ignition is on. It is a common remote turn on for aftermarket amplifiers.

You'd have to blaze a trail to get video signal out of it though, not sure it's been done before.

Issue is not getting signal (just a hard-wired standard video signal), it's recording it.

It should be easy enough to splice in and get a feed. The thing you will have to bypass is it being displayed on the dash when activated by the reverse switch.
