I had my wheels and tires balanced last week and when I picked them up this is what all 4 looked like.

Nothing I tried or the shop tried could get it off. Looks like whatever they used bleached the powder coat off or something like that.

Sounds to me like that shop just offered to have your wheels powdercoated again for you.

Sounds to me like that shop just offered to have your wheels powdercoated again for you.
They are actually buying me new ones. Being in Germany they said it would take too long and they don't want me being without my car for that long.

The cleaner they used was obviously way too powerful. They should definitely be paying to have them redone. Tell them to bump the cleaner down a notch :doh:

haha yea I agree. Little overkill. But at least they are stepping up and buying me new ones. Kudos to them for doing what it takes to make it right.

I'm sure they're going to want to keep them, but that would be nice to have the spare set up

That must be some crappy powder coat to come off like that with any solvent found in a typical garage. You would need a powerful acid or caustic to work that fast and to the base metal.

What did you take the wheels in for ?

Remounting, rebalancing maybe if they did and tried taking the stick weight goop off they used some hardcore stripper then
