it has an engine!
Dude paid a severe markup for sure. They can be had for $40k. There's a much larger aftermarket world for the sti. It's the same engine they've been using since 2004, just a few minor tweaks.
I could have had a base 16 sti for 33k otd shipped to my door from heuberger subaru which is half way across the US. People are getting taken:lol:

Out of topic but the new Focus RS with the 36.5 g pricing is hard to beat. Can't wait to see the performance number for that car!

Back to our topic. GTPP will win in every category:headbang:
But in the end... Its still a Focus. Way to many better cars then the focus in its class for a lot of years.

In reference to how much he paid, the 45K is with tag tax and title on the limited model which is the top of the line for that car, I think it was about 40K before all that. He said they would absolutely not budge on the price at all. It's a nice car, he was between that and a used E92 M3.

He wont race me yet because he's not going to dog it until after 1K miles. I think he's at 150 now. He did say he would race me in the snow or rain though lol.

He still paid too much. I can get a limited shipped to my house under 40k otd. A premium otd is 35.5. Your friend didnt know where to shop. Also that was for an order. Not just taking one off the lot.

2015 GT stick.
My wrx was reasonably quick for first gear only.....then it fell on its face.
My mustang is not as quick in first gear due to traction limitations. ...then it would pass my subaru with ease from second gear on up.
Try challenging him to a roll on race from say 40 mph or so if you are unsure how good your launch technique is. He will beat you if the race is really short from a stand still. So make sure its long enough to be a hp race and not just a traction race. You will catch and pass him with ease if there is any distance to the challenge.

Daily driver in the northern climates, I'd opt for the STI as the AWD is nice in the winter. If not, Mustang all day.

You mean this one?
Son, my first car was a 85 Ford Escort, they may have renamed it, but its still a Ford Escort, still not impressed. 300ish hp cheap compact eco-buckets were a dime a dozen a over a decade ago, why should I be impressed today?

If I were still into kiddy over boosted econobox's I'd probably buy the new Civic Type R. That thing can still lap nurburgring in under 8 mins.

Go get an ecoboost Mustang, much better car period.

As much as I love my Mustang, unfortunately when ever the the Focus RS comes out its gonna destroy the Mustang in almost every measurable category with a few bolt ons and tune. Its gonna make similar power, weighs alot less, is AWD, has 4 doors, better MPG etc etc.

I love my 5.0, and hope to in a few years add the RS to the stable of cars :D

Back on topic, Off the line with a good launch he might have you, but then after awhile... Never raced a STI before, so no idea how they are once tuned

Still, my 2 cents

Yeah but I wonder what the DEALERS will actually sell it for. Seems MSRP is meaningless with specialty high-demand vehicles. Just look at what's happening with the GT350...some dealers trying to sell it for 80-90k.

Son, the new RS is not even remotely the same car as your 85 escort was, from top to bottom. That's like saying an 85 Mustang 4cyl is the same as a 2016 GT350 because they are both mustangs.

300ish hp cheap compact eco-buckets were a dime a dozen a over a decade ago, why should I be impressed today?
I don't recall that. And the new RS isn't really a cheap econo-bucket.

Better because ? Only thing better about it is that it is cheaper. Otherwise would have to be insane to take Ecoboost over RS.

this is me and my friend

have STi stage2+ 2014 and my friend have mustang gt 2015

quarter time STi 13.9sec and mustang 13.3sec

so I only win on 1/8 mile drag

So now I trade in my STi 2014 at my ford dealer for 2016 mustang with roush s/c and I waiting my VIN number....
