I am looking to replace the wheels along with the tires on my 2016 PP Mustang GT. Currently the wheel size is 19” and I am wondering is it worth moving up to a 20 inch wheel?

I am also looking to replace the stock tire with a larger one. Looking for suggestions on size without being too aggressive. The car is not being raced used on weekends pretty much. TIA :ford:

I'd say that on average more people are moving up to a 20" than are sticking with 19"s. I would be one of those people who would agree that 20" wheels do look better on this platform, just like the S197 looked better with 20"s as well. If the car isn't being raced at all like you said, then I wouldn't hold back from going to a 20" option, preferably for me 20x10 and 20x11.

20's would look great, but keep in mind you are driving on crappy New York roads, and the 19" might be a more realistic solution.
I cracked 3 wheels on my last 2 cars on our lovely potholes.
I have 19x10 square on 275's, and could go much wider on back if I liked.

If your purchasing new wheels go 20's. There's a lot for pros.
1. More tire sizes to choose from.
2. Tires are slightly cheaper.
3. They look AWESOME!

I'm sure there's cons if your tracking your car.

After alll the comments above 20 inch seems the best way to go. Next question would be tire size. I want the rear tires to be flush or even some what inside the wheel well. So what rear tire size would that equal ?

If I decide not to stagger what would be the best tire size all around?

depends on the specs of the wheels.

Have several wheels in mind. MRR M600, TSW Bathurst, and Velgan vmb9.

Yes I remember we spoke about those.

Personally since these would be a 10.5" and or 11" rear a 315/35/20 pairs nicely.

When you lower the vehicle you would just simply adjust the rear camber spec to -2 degrees thats all.

20s look better imo with a small drop but that doesn't mean you can't make 19s look good with just a thicker sidewall.

As for rear tire size a lot of people run 305s in the rear without issue but clearance is all going to depend on the offset/width of the wheels and if you're dropping the car at all.

20's, go for it. The design/mass of the vehicle demands it I think. Even if you do a leisurely track day or auto-x you'll be fine.

A lot of people get caught up in the performance/weight of 19's vs. 20's when there just hard-parkers.
