I have a 2018 Mustang 10 speed auto on order. Just have the standard 3.15 axle on order, but debating on switching to 3.55 axle.

is it worth it or just leave it as it is? what will i gain or lose.

Price difference is $495 before x plan.

Auto with the 3.15 is actually better off the line (red light) than the auto with 3.55.

Someone has posted the ratios in the past but 3.55 w/ manual all day; 3.15 w/ auto for quicker acceleration through lower gears.

Edit: Adding Link that compares 2015 GT auto with 3.15 vs GT auto with 3.73

In my opinion, based on experience, even with the 3:15's you will be traction limited off the line most of the time in real world conditions with the 10A's short gears and all season tires. I expect the 18 GTPP 10A I'm getting to be traction limited off the line with 3:55's, Torsen, and the new Michelin tires. Probably even with autocross Bridgestone RE-71R tires on many sites and certainly around town.

Not sure what the 1st gear ratio will be in the 10-speed but it isn't likely to be lower than the 4.13 in 6-speed. That, kids, is LOW. Even with the 3.15 gears, the 6AT flies off the line. I never once wished for deeper rear gears, and the high highway gears make for great gas mileage when cruising. It's a good choice. Almost like Ford engineered it or something.

I have the 3.15 in my Auto and first gear still seems pretty low and is shifting into 2nd quickly.

The 3.15 will be the better choice.

With 10 gears, you will not notice it much at all.

3.55 because the car will be shifting TEN!!!!!! gears for you to stay in the power band.

3.73 in a manual is a little bit of work.
3.73 in an auto... I wouldn't mind at all.

So 3.55 with an auto - yep.

Unless you plan to get a super-duper-charger.

Why? OP's car will have all season tires so traction will probably be "limited" off the line. Are you focusing on gears above 2 or 3?

Just curious since my car will be a GTPP with summer tires and 3:55's when it isn't on RE-71R's. :)

Anyone that wants to win races will eventually see they will have to change the rear tires to dr’s!

Keep in mind if you do go 3.15 your stuck if I have read correctly you have eto change the differential if ring gear is changed 3.31 may be better it come with the better differential..
