The version I linked is sitting at 582/441 on 105 octane through longtube headers, so 465 hp would be pretty mild ;)
I'd be prepared to "settle" for that
Well yeah it would be pretty mild, but production motors are generally very mild, they've got to meet emissions, durability and production realities.

Even at 465 HP you'd still be able to do the usual bolt-ons, like CAI, LT's, exhaust, etc..

With the Coyote you pick up 50-60 WHP and 40 WTQ from a CAI/LT/Exhaust combo..

At 465 HP you're looking at 400 WHP. Let's just say we split the difference and say you pick up 55 WHP from the above combo.

455 WHP and probably right around 410 WTQ @ 3,800lbs (GT premium auto). Let's just assume you've got yourself a nice set of DR's and dead hook...you're looking at a bolt-on time of 11.5 or so @ 118+ MPH.

I think that would reflect the Mach 1 name well :ford:

With GT350 Head on 5.0 making 541hp 401 tq, would this would be 17' Mustang GT?

My source say Coyote hybrid engine with the GT350 suspension. cool side panels under doors and really cool hood..... don't kill the messenger..500 HP 450 TQ
Coyote/Voodoo hybrid you mean? 5.2 heads and block, coyote crank?

My only issue with what you posted is the 450 Tq power figure..that's going to be a real trick to achieve while still maintaining 500 HP. It's technically possible, but that would be really small cams, like truck cams, which would reduce top end HP. 500 HP is easily possible with a CPC 5.2, even on 93 gas and emissions friendly, it just would be pushing the engine more than you typically see Ford do.

A TQ figure of 450 ft lbs would probably relate closer to a HP figure of 450.

Not killing the messenger, but I am saying I think your source is a bit..over the top.

My guess is also 5.0, GT350 heads, revised 13mm GT cams, a different intake manifold similar to the boss but not the same, and forged pistons like the boss. Horse power and torque will be a bump above the boss 465/400 ish and a redline of 7500. I don't feel it will be much more than that because of emissions and Ford likes to leave some room to grow.

GT350 heads on a 5.0 is not ideal because the 350 heads are designed for a 5.2 bore. They could work but there would be valve shrouding issues.

5.0 heads flow VERY well already, it would only make sense to use 350 heads if you're going to a 5.2 block.

Yeah, didn't think about the valve clearance. I hope and pray we do see a 5.2 but even if we get that lucky, I still think ford will be conservative and keep the horse power well below the GT350. The larger bore would give us some decent torque.

Yes, the increased displacement would see a jump of 15-20 ft lbs or torque easily just from the extra 15 cubes. As I said before, just going with larger displacement would see the engine probably go to 455 HP and 420 TQ, that's with current cam specs, intake and tune.

I get the feeling I'm going to regret pulling the trigger on the 15 and not waiting.
I wouldn't regret it. A Mach 1 will probably be around 50th LE prices...$45,000 or so. You can't delay what *is* for what *might* be.

All this Mach 1 talk is just speculation based on very loose, very vague evidence. We might never see a Mach 1, or a 5.2 Coyote, or anything.

Are you kidding me? Have you seen your car? No need to regret that my friend!

That being said, I'm just hoping this Mach 1 is everything I'm building it up to be in my head

That's not terrible pricing if it had the 5.2. Not much more than my car was.

 Thanks man! I love my car, don't get me wrong. I just need to Whipple it to get this horsepower want out of my head. Such a huge chunk of change though.

Wouldn't it be much easier and cheaper to de-tune the 5.2 slightly to say 485hp and keep the performance under the GT350? But include the GT350 suspension goodies to keep it above the GT PP.

I for one am waiting for this MACH I. But if it isn't official by 2017, then I will go the GT350 route.
