I haven't had any problems with heat or cold on mine. Maybe it is where it is white though. It is never too hot to touch.

Oh, and it destroyed the shift boot. I guess it got too hot in the summer and it actually cooked the shift boot and the fake leather on it started peeling. The shift boot actually slides over the bottom of the knob on the WRX.

lol it wasnt the end of the world. just little pieces of it started flaking off. it was not noticeable from the driver's seat, but you can see it from the passenger seat, since only the front right of the boot started flaking off. the buyer didnt even notice.

Just sitting here waiting for my cell to ring so I can pick Big Yellow up from the dealership after they've replaced the steering wheel, tachometer lens, and intake manifold.

I hope to God they haven't scratched/dented/dinged or joy-rided the car.

Mines been at the dealer for about 2 weeks. Hood corrosion and door latch recall. I wonder if I'll get it back in once piece.

They laid me up in a Fusion. I do miss the exhaust, the giddy up, and my phone mount. I'm not freaking about it at all for some reason. The allure of the mustang left me a while back I guess

Mgw shifter installed. Thing is simply wonderful. Super tight right now but not annoying or bad by any means. Super precise and sounds good. Nice positive feel too. Took about 4 hours with my buddy on jack stands in the garage.

I can tell you from personal experience, having gotten out of my car 5 minutes ago, that the sock trick barely does anything. I even went and got a super heavy duty plastic backed fabric that lets zero light through over it. Still git wicked hot. Like, stick your hand in the oven hot. While I love the look and weight of this knob, I will be removing it for this reason. The ambient temperature is what affects this and stainless steel is a sponge for heat. Stefan–Boltzmann law, statement that the total radiant heat energy emitted from a surface is proportional to the fourth power of its absolute temperature. <--- What that means, I have no idea but I think it means my knob get's f**king hot!
