You do know there was no 351C-4V Cobra Jet in '70, right? I did have a '73 Q-code non-ram air (n/a on 4v that year) 4 speed, 351 C 4V-CJ. Only Cobra Jet in a Mustang for 70 was the 428.
There was a 351 CJ, only real difference was a much small carb when compared to the Boss 351. 1969-1970 were the years.

69's were Windsors, therefore no 351 CJ that year for sure.

Listen up, I'm doing this with one arm in a sling.
69 - 351 Windsor, 2v or 4v
70 - Many 351 2v Windsors out in early production. No difference in Engine code in VIN.
Most 2v were Clevelands, all 4v were Clevelands. No others, no H.O. or Boss or CJs
71 - All 351s are Clevelands, 2 or 4v. Boss 351 4v included on on Boss 351 cars, n/a on coupe' or convertible.
72 - All 351s are Clevelands, 2 or 4v. No Boss 351, replaced by 351 H.O., but not a package like the Boss 351.
73 - All 351s are Clevelands, 2v on;y one available with ram-air. 4v refered to CJ, no ram air on 4v cars.Period.
74 - Not a snowballs chance in hell.

Waiting on this to get back from the shop (body work done, having A/C reinstalled...wife won't ride in it in this heat...). Would love to see the prospect of a Mach 1 if they do it up right.

Does anyone remember how much of a premium the 2003 Mach1 demanded over the GT?
I'm thinking it wasn't that huge of a price penalty
Base Retail of the 2003 $28,995

Base Retail for the 2003 GT $24,875.

For thr money a great package. The engine alone was worth the extra cost. Heck the convertable cost more than the Mach1 package.

I've still my window sticker on my early production 2003 Mach 1 and it based for $28,370. I added the IUP package for $295, but not the only other option on the Mach 1, which was auto transmission. Considering how different the car is from a GT; hood and scoop, engine, gears, Brembo brakes, stripes and emblems, seats, wheels, c pillars and quarter windows, lowered springs, front lip spoiler, chassis brace, subframe connectors, mufflers and tips, and gauge cluster, it made for a real value over the GT.

 Yes it was a hell of a deal for the price difference!

I own some Shelby's but I really want a new Mach 1. I grew up in my Dad's Mach 1 which I still have today and my first car was a 70 Mach 1 so yes I'd choose a new Mach 1 over a GT500 or GT350. Besides, it was proven in 1969 that more people would buy the Mach 1 over the GT hence why the GT was killed off until what 1982 I think?

However and Ford never listens to us, if the Mach 1 returns then bring back the favorite Mach 1 colors like Gulfstream Aqua, Grabber Blue, Green, and Orange, Royal Maroon, keep the Lightning Blue its close to Acapulco Blue, Legend Lime

Can't post it but it has NO information about the Mach 1 in it, NO details, NO confirmation of the car even being built etc
.
Clor writes about how everyone asks him at shows etc about forthcoming cars (aka the Mach 1, GT500) in an attempt to get the inside skinny and he can't and won't say a thing about them--he doesn't even know.. He notes the fastest way to get fired at Ford is to talk about a forthcoming vehicle.

i would be very interested in a mach 1. the 2003 was a great car and if ford could do something similar by making it a unique package that bridges the gap between the gt and whatever shelby halo mustang is out for the year they would have a winner. i dont think raiding the ford performance parts bin will do it for me though. just slapping a gt350im on the coyote is not enough. i liked the 2v to 4v difference on the 03. had a 15gt and looking for a gt350 but they are just barely more than i am comfortable spending. what im afraid of and sure will happen is the dealers will start the limited production crap and slap adms on the mach, making it not a good value anymore
