Hello everybody,

First of all, i just bought an Ecoboost from US even if i live in France. I'm just like a child with his new toy!

I'd like to know how to add automatic lamp position with my Xenon ?
I just replaced the switch by this one :
s-l225.jpg

Everything works like before. But the automatic position just keeps the Xenon on...so i can't use it...

Is it something i need to activate somewhere? I can't find anything in IPC. Does someone add this feature ?

Thanks for your help (and sorry for my poor englush)

If I remember correctly when I used to live in France. Ford has a feature that most US Ford cars lack of it... The switch you're showing seems to indicate that you can move your headlights up and down automatically instead of manually with a screw driver under the hood like here in US. I'm assuming the harness must be different but I could be wrong...

Hello,
You're right about the 0 to 4 positions, it doesn't work as well but i know it's normal.
I don't understand why the automatic position for the Xenon doesn't work. Do you have an option in the IPC ? Is there a code i should modify in the car computer ?

Yes it does!
Well then I cannot help you but I will check in to see how you get on. You might need to get a friend who has the automatic lights (may be a ford but not necessarily a Mustang) and get him or her to let you have a play around with their switch. I assume your instrument lights react to the sensor and change colour at night?

Yes, instruments lights react to the sensor and change colour at night. I saw a video on the internet which explained that change this switch allow autimatic lights on a 5th mustang generation. I thought that could be similar on mine... Do you have something on your IPC for these automatic lamps ?

There is a headlamp delay item where you can delay the headlamps by 10, 20, or 120 seconds. I need to see how it works in daylight. Tomorrow. No "turn on auto lights" option, if that's what you were hoping for.

That's what i was looking for, thank you.

I may have found something to change by using forscan : these codes may enabled or disabled automatic headlights :

726-09-01 0100 x37x xx may be auto headlights disabled
726-09-01 0100 x38x xx may be auto headlights enabled

726-12-01 0000 000F 4F may be auto headlamps disabled
726-12-01 0001 000C 4D may be auto headlamps enabled

If someone have automatic headlights/headlamps enabled, can you confirm that you have theses codes on your car ?

Thanks a lot

Hello,

I just opened the switch to show you the wires i have. I would like to know if everything is plugged where it has to be, or if a wire seems missing between my car and someone who have automatic headlight working correctly.

Please find below what i have now. What do you think ? Keep in mind that my car is a US one which was imported in Germany and someone had to add a rear fog light and it works :)
And i didn't try to change anything in BCM, i prefer to be sure wires and hardware is ok first :)

I have the following wires (xenon, autolamps, no leveling, front fog, read fog):

2 YE-BU (rear fog lamps, added myself)
3 BN (Dim-)
4 BK-BU (Gnd)
5 BK-VT (Illum Gnd)
6 YE-GN (Dim+)
10 WH (Headlamp Off)
11 GY (Park)
12 BU (Headlmap On)
13 VT (Autolamp)
14 GY (Front Fog)
15 VT (Illum)

It looks like the connection for the autolamp is missing. It would be from C205 #10 to C2280B #16.
C205 is the lamp switch connector and C2280B is one of the connectors on the BCM.

So this is what you need to do:
1)
Do you have the ambient light sensor installed? The little thing in the middle of the dashboard close to the windshield?

2)
Is the ambient light sensor enabled?
726-26-01 x*xx xxxx xxxx Ambient Light Sensor Present Cfg: 0=not present, 1=present
If not, you need FORScan and an appropriate adapter to enable this.

3)
Add the missing wire. Terminals for C2280B are: Mouser 26 AWG: 571-1924955-5 or 7 (https://www.mouser.de/ProductDetail/571-1924955-3?r=571-1924955-3). Terminals for C205 are Tyco Electronics
2098762-3 or 7 AWG 26(https://www.mouser.de/ProductDetail/571-2098762-1?r=571-2098762-1).

This should do the trick.

Cheers

Just thanks a lot !! You rocks !
1/ Yes i have it and it seems working because when it's dark, the ambient lights changes.
2/ I didn't buy a proper adapter yet but i will buy one very soon.
3/ I will try that.

Once again, thank you, you made my day:headbang:

Hello Romain
then I would start with point 3. Mouser also has a European website, but be warned that the shipping costs are quite high.
I used a switch from a Ford Mondeo MK5 DG9T-13D061-FCW, which does not have the leveling function. Found it on Ebay for around €30.
