because they are little "bags" filled with air...

2. it's just meant to make the car look aggressive but does has it benefits as in lifting the car up for drive ways, bumps, etc.

What coilovers where used in the above video?

Its not the same comparing a 4000 dollar air suspension setup to a 1000 dollar coilover setup.
Hey DB - a lot of the cost of air suspension is in the management, so the struts are pretty comparable to coilovers. And while I can't tell you which coilovers were used in the video, I can tell you that they were made by a very reputable brand and sell for $1,699.99.

ok 2 questions: (not saying i hate things here)

1. why are they called "bagged" ?
2. what is the purpose/entertainment value in doing this to the car? is it for a specific performance or just to make the wheels sink deep into the wells?

not hating just trying to figure out the hype. inquiring mind wants to know.....
Hey Sin:

"Bagged" refers to the suspension - instead of having a metal coiled spring, these cars have a reinforced rubber "bag" of air that is constructed much like a tire.
Bags started as a way to make your car look different, but have evolved in the past decade or so to perform similarly or even better in some cases than coilovers. People bag their cars for various reasons, but I would say that a very common combination is that people want the handling and looks of a lowered suspension, but still want to be able to drive their cars up steep driveways, over curbs, and on bad roads where coilovers that are set pretty low might cause you to bottom out; with air, you can simply have a higher ride height (even back up to stock height) at the touch of a button.

Hope that answers your question, let me know if you have any more!

I'm starting my Airlift project now. I just got my seamless tank and brackets back from the powdercoater today. They did a great job.

I want bags bad, but I'm concerned about how it'll affect my drag strip performance. Looking to pushing the cars into the 9s soon.
