the *-BB.tar.gz is just an upgrade to voice commands, which seems to work fine in v2.2. The issue seems to be that the voice update requires more RAM than is available on the non-nav systems.

Just wanted to chime in and say this method worked for me after the latest leaked version of 3.0 wouldn't stop giving me the pop up even after connecting to WiFi. Downgraded using the guide from the F-150 forums and updated to 2.3, would get a memory ever like some other members did otherwise.

Edit: Would like to add that my flash drive is a 32gb USB 3.0

i used a 32gb stick and ran into the mem errors going to 2.3

I used a 16GB updated no problem from 2.2 to 2.3.
The file is only 1.6GB for the nav version.
Use a good quality thumb drive though.

The nav version doesn't seem to have issues. It's only the non-nav systems that seem to give the MEM_ERR03 error.

Version 2.2 Gracenotes fix (possible) Non Nav

This is for those with non nav cars and lost their Gracenotes library on Sync 3 version 2.2. I got the MEMERR03 error when attempting the 2.3 update. Thinking that it may have corrupted my 2.2 install, I reinstalled my ver 2.2. After the reinstall, I got the Gracenotes back. Subsequent retries to install 2.3 still fail and ended up dropping the Gracenote library but reinstalling 2.2 has always fixed the issue.

At this point, I am waiting for Ford to fix the update for non nav users as the update still has not attempted over the air. Just an idea, I mainly wanted my music pictures back anyway and I got that.

Activating New Backup Camera

I updated to the new Sync 3 a few months ago and everything has been working great. Then about a month ago my backup camera went out and I took it into Ford to have replaced under warranty and the technician said he wasn't able to activate the new backup camera and most likely because I have the Sync 3 and they don't have the required software to communicate with Sync 3 since it hasn't officially been released for the Mustangs yet.

Any ideas or suggestions? I really miss my backup camera :frusty:

FWIW I suspect you could return to 3.0 after the dealer configures the new camera.

I don't know if it's available in North America... It may not work since we use Sirius XM Traffic data here.

siriusxm is a rip off just to have that feature.. $20 a month :frusty:
