I'd be shocked if base price was under $50K.

Not to mention a little pissed. :D I'd expect low 50s.....
Exactly!!

MSRP on my 5.0 GT PP ordered with every option except 50th Anniversary Appearance Package was 45,858.00. I would be floored if you can get your hands on the base model for less than 50k.

Very interesting and clever pricing. If the GT350 is really around $45k, that will mean you can really get a bargain if you are willing to forgo all the options. I really want the track pack for the magneride, but at $6500 I might pass.

Stripes and roof paint cost about what I thought they would. More than my cheapness wants to pay. Leaning toward all black again rather than magnetic with stripes and roof black out for an extra twelve hundred dollars.

The "R" is cheap enough it appeals to me. Interesting to compare an "R" with amenities added back in (touring package?) to the base GT350 with the track package once the full information is available.

I agree. I am now thinking of the R as a possibility too. It's quite possible the R + SVT Touring minus CF wheels will be one hell of an aggressive and reasonably priced car.

If early estimate were right and it is starting $53k with these options (guessing that you need Track before you get R) still comes out to a awesome car for $64k

  • Track Package = $6500.
  • R Package (over base GT350) = $3500.
  • Over the top stripes = $475.

The OP seems to contradict the notion of needing track pack before ordering R package.. who knows :frusty:

2015 GT350-R Option Pricing (MSRP):
R Package (over base GT350) = $3500.
SVT Touring Package = $3,000.
Navigation = $795.
Painted Black Roof = $695.
Over the top stripes = $475.

Not getting getting too excited about this car yet. As far as I know no specs been released (weight, 0-60, 1/4 mile, track times, horsepower, torque, etc.)? Further, the 2016 camaro ss is going to weight 200lbs less, have an option for magnaride, an option for an adjustable exhaust, and will most likely have a fast paddle shifting auto 8L90. ZL1 will be even better. Just sayin not hatin.

Here is my $.02 cent on the matter:

1) Base price of 2015 Mustang GT V8 is about 33K....
2) Base GT350 will have a V8 FPC vs 302 (cost difference/upgrade= $4,000) and No mag-ride.
3) Base GT350 recontoured aluminum front fenders to accommodate the wider front (cost difference = $1,500)
4) Miscellaneous items $5,500.00 (i.e. frame stiffness, badging, seats logo, coils, shocks, tires, wheel-upgrade, etc...

So realistically cost of the Base GT350 car to build over regular GT Mustang is about $11,000
Okay 33,000 + 11,000 = $44,000 base GT350 or now take and add a TECH pac to this..
44,000 + 7,500 = 51,500 + (stripes) 475.00 + (painted black roof ) 695.00 = $52,670

And there is my guess for a Nicely equip. 2016 GT350

and add the "R" at $3,500 plus A/C 3,000 and you have $59,170

Ignoring that this is as much an emotional purchase for some than a numbers one the GT350 is not even a close comparison to the SS.

We have some estimates, GT350R should have 520/420 hp tq on the conservative side, weight will be at least 200lbs less than GT (announced 130lb drop from GT350 I can't find GT350 numbers.) with other estimates putting it at 440 less than GT.

1/4 mile does not really matter for this car since it was build for track, and track times don't really matter cause of all the variables.

ZL1 will also be priced higher as Chevy tends to do.

Closest relative engineering wise is Ferrari California, which has 125 pounds over base GT, at least 40 less HP, 70 ft-lbs torque less. Its' 0-60 was 3.8 so do the math we looking at 3.6 conservatively.

Keep in mind that the listed option pricing is stated to be for the 2015 GT350. And we know from the press release today that only 100 2015 GT350s (and 37 GT350Rs) will be made -- 50 with Tech Pkg and 50 with Track Pkg. So, the option pricing may be geared to those unique 2015 configurations. Maybe they'll be somewhat different for the 2016s.

3) Base GT350 will have aluminium front end vs steel (cost difference = $1,500)

Which parts do you think are steel on the front of a regular Mustang? Both the fenders and hood are already aluminum on regular production Mustangs. The GT350 has a composite radiator support structure, however.

He's talking about the impact bar under the bumper.

About what I thought I would be spending. Even at the rumored 53k o would be JUST about my max. Thoigh at 53k base I would go over my max with the stripes and roof...so let's see:

Base $52,995 (hopefully lower) + $6500 (track) + $695 (painted roof) + $475 (stripes, which to get stripes and roof u add both right?) = $60,665

Then IF Nav is available stand alone add that too cause I want the big screen. Little above my 60k limit but I could probably push it...
