Manual trans, when I take it out of reverse the backup display stays on :frusty: regardless of what gear I put it in. although the reverse light turns off.
Anybody else have this problem, any suggestions?

I don't see it as a problem... Helps me line up past the garage door. When you pull your emergency brake it goes off. Pretty sure it was designed that way. Once you hit a certain mph it goes off as well. So is yours staying on after you pull away?

I know you can set a delay in Settings. It turns off as soon as I move forward

Mine goes off as soon as I take it out of Reverse.

I found this in the manual:

Using the Rear View Camera

The rear view camera system displays what is behind your vehicle when you place the transmission in reverse (R).

The system uses two types of guides to help you see what is behind your vehicle:

• Fixed guidelines: Show the actual path your vehicle is moving in while reversing in a straight line. This can be helpful when backing into a parking space or aligning your vehicle with another object behind you.

• Centerline: Helps align the center of your vehicle with an object (for example, a trailer).

Note: If the transmission is in reverse (R) and the luggage compartment is ajar, no rear view camera features will display.

Note: If the image comes on while the transmission is not in reverse (R), have the system inspected by an authorized dealer.

Thanks your right on. I just got the car and was trying things out in the drive way. I just took it around the block, works as you described. in my other cars, it turns off as soon as you take it out of reverse.

thanks everybody for the feedback

In the settings menu, you can set it to not have that delay.

Interesting. Mine turns off right after I take it out of reverse (it's a 6sp manual). I'd like it to stay on because I usually nudge it out of my garage with reverse, but just coast down the driveway backwards, and unless I keep the clutch in and shifter in reverse, I can't see out of the camera, and God forbid I should have to turn my head. LOL

Glad to know I can set a delay. Cool.

Most cars with backup cameras have a delay setting including the new stang. If you turn the delay off as soon as you put it on any other gear the display will shut off lol no need to freak out calm down people :)

Good info. I'm in the group that coasts out of the garage and the camera shuts off as soon as out of reverse. I'll check on the settings.

I didn't realize that was the setting. Mine goes of right away but I would like it to stay on so I'll set the delay. I also like the zoom feature and wish I could get it to default to zoom.

I tried the delay setting and it drove me crazy. I set it back it immediate off when out of reverse.

To access any of the rear view camera
system settings, make the following
selections in the multifunctional display
when the transmission is not in reverse (R):
• Menu > Vehicle > Rear View Camera
