Maybe Ford will surprise us and get the cars out sooner...

I always try and look at the car from where I want it to end up after I have made a few changes. I installed a set of Verde 20" wheels on the red GT that's been floating around giving it a much better look (in my opinion). Also. I would probably block out the colored section just above the splitter, add some lowering springs, a tune, and call it a day. Here is an attempt at the Orange Fury, and Yellow also. Ford has always come up a little short in the wheel department as far as design, size and offset. I am sure this is due to some internal specs they have to meet. The proper wheels and stance can make all the difference.

One more reason to hate NJ then. Everything here is a lot more expensive.
There's one thing nobody will argue about in this thread.

Indeed...........back on track :p

Spotted this on another forum:

"Howdy folks, a friend of mine who lives very close to me here in NW Austin spotted these two Mustangs being offloaded onto a side street near his condo complex. They appear to be 2018's, with painted license plates (manufacturer?) I thought I'd share them for you all (hope this is ok!) Apologies for the blurry one but it appears to be a blue 5.0. Are these indeed 2018's?"

It should be pretty easy as the chassis and major parts are the same or will fit the assembly line with little or no modifications. I guess it has more to do with suppliers like the stamping (body), engine plant and the electronics shops building up inventory.

Hit The Nail Right On The Head !!

Lets see:

Active exhaust? Sorry, I bought a crazy good aftermarket exhaust like most smart people would do.
Digital display? I can read my tach and speedometer just fine the way it is.
Sound system? Identical.
Shitty Honda spoiler? Oh wait, I don't have one and that's good.
Derpy looking front end? I don't have to deal with that.
DI/PI guinea pig with a new 5.0? Nope, I have a tried and true port injected Coyote which is a breeze to tune.
PP with Michelin PSS? I already have lighter wheels on the way with PSS tires going on them in a square setup.

Enjoy paying 45k for your PP2, and all your "goodies". I spent quite a bit less and I can still tune the car with my headers and blow the '18 away.

:headbang:

Hmm, I live in NE Austin... Wonder if I track down where these are going? I'd love to see it in person. Get some photos. :)

You know this from driving it already?

It might be better out of the box, but this is why we have this thing called aftermarket.
So, you think there won't be an aftermarket for the 2018?

No, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying once you get both tuned and bolted on, you're not going to find much of a difference between either.

The major difference you are going to see is the boosted applications. Running higher compression is not good for that.

Cars & Coffee in Austin, TX is this Sunday, 6/11 at the Oasis. That's one guess as to where those Mustangs could be headed since it's Austin's biggest regularly scheduled car event with all sorts of cars.

The Republic of Texas Biker Rally is another big event this weekend--although I dunno why you'd use a biker event to promote cars...
