MF TruX and Mishimoto race Axle. I think I like the stock resonator sound better.

I have the Roush axle backs with stock resonator and I feel the sound is perfect. Noticeably louder than stock but not obnoxious. I spent a LOT of time researching before doing this a couple of years ago and I'm totally happy with it.

Yeah I know thats what I am going with first. If I want something louder I will go with an X-Pipe or H-Pipe.

just a quick update

after driving around for 3 days with the MF TX and my roush AB's i actually liking it
cab is nice and quiet -
the sound is perfect - deep sound
actually feels like the car is performing a lot smoother and quicker.

no more raspy clang...

cold start is still loud just not obnoxious loud.

will give another update after another week to see if i think the same but I'm kinda liking this set up right now

Anyone running this combo? Do you feel its too quite or just right?
I heard on in person and I thought it sounded rather subdued.

Just wondering how loud a Roush AB with X-Pipe really is.
Don't want to piss off the wife with a super loud exhaust. ;)
Don't care about the neighbors.
I ran this combo about a year ago. Now im at roush ab, h pipe, & catless sw headers lol. I did feel like it was to quiet but thats just my preference. I think the roush ab and h pipe is perfect tho. It is loud at WOT but very tamable around town.

Roush AB with either an X-pipe or H-pipe is often regarded as one of the loudest setups you can have, probably right behind the Corsa Extreme and Borla ATAK. I have this setup and puts a smile on my face when I go above 2k rpms and it's also quiet when it's in six gear as if it's a stock muffler.

I wonder what it would sound like if you also throw in headers ;)
Compared roush lt o/r hpipe res delete to borla atax lt o/r res delete and roush was louder

I think a lot of the issue is the cars are too well insulated from their own exhaust noise.

When its fun-loud in the cabin, its obnoxiously loud to bystanders.

This is also why manufacturers are using "sound-tubes".

That resonated X-pipe takes some time to break in. Mine took about 200-250 miles to liven up and produce a deeper, crisper sound, along with getting louder.

This is very true. But just to make sure that anyone isn't confused:
The Roush AB with H-Pipe (or X) is LOUD AF :headbang:
It's literally twice as loud (at least) as the Roush AB with the stock resonator.
In addition to being much much louder, I feel the exhaust tone itself is nicer overall, with all of the metallic, tinny rasp that is primarily caused by the resonator, completely gone.
But make no mistake, it's a crazy loud setup and if I was relying on my car to be a DD, the volume level would get old. It is controllable at low speeds around town and not bad at highway cruising speeds (65-75) in 6th gear, but when you are on it, or just taking off from a stop light, LOOK OUT.

Going to start saving to buy the Roush Axle-backs, going with the stock resonator
first and see how the wife likes it. Unfortunately I have two other passengers that ride in the Stang, my wife and my stepson. Until I get my wife's car next year.
Figured I could go this route and after she gets her car add an x-pipe. :D

Smart man. I started with the Roush and h pipe. Back to stock resonator. Until she gets her car, save your money.
That's why I put this on the starter button. The h pipe with Roush would have the passengers eject quickly!

2016 GT base. Roush axleback and frpp xpipe.
Did the Roush axlebacks then added the Ford xpipe a couple months later. It is twice as loud as just the roush, and startup will wake the neighbors and they will know when you get home. The only negative is there is a drone when I am cruising over 80mph (I have the 3.55). Other than that is it not annoyingly loud inside the cabin.
