Changing my oil today and I got the FL820 filter. Damn this thing looks too big for the GTPP mounting. Can someone confirm this thing will fit without springing a leak on the gasket? Not sure if the oil cooler on these PP cars requires the smaller filter?

Yes that is what I use as well. It'll work.

Wasn't too bad to fit in there, but when I got it snugged up I felt the top of it and it's a real close fit. Seems like it sits right on the edge of the gasket. Ran it around the block and no issues. I'll check for leaks for the next couple days.

So I stumbled on this thread searching for M-6731-FL820 info, as this threads now so old, I assume there should be sufficient reviews ? :D

I’ve been using the Ford Performance FL820 for a couple oil changes now. The filter holds more than the stock one and fits without issues even on a PP car.

The PP has an actual oil cooler?

I just use the FL500S because it's proven, and only ~$6!

* Relief Valve Location - base end
I want to be 100% sure I understand what base end means. Every other reference I find for valve locations refer to threaded end or dome end. which of those is also called the base end?
