My guess:

GT - 5.0 NA (confirmed)
Mach 1 - 5.2 NA CPC
GT500/Cobra - 5.2 FI CPC

7.0 - No way
Your off on the engines. The possibility of a new Mach1 is high. This 5.2 SC could be going in it. But as far as the 5.2 in the Flagship, no, it I is too "green pea" to put under the hood of Fords Flagship. Also, according to the GT350 Drivetrain Engineers, the 5.2 is only safe upto about 700 crank hp. After that it's at ones own risk. The next GT500/Cobra will be 755-775 hp and will be a de-tuned 5.0 TT Cobra jet motor most likely. Especially even more now that Dodges halo car has stolen the stage. But the new hot mustang will be far superior to the 95% 1/4 mi track only Demon. It'll be an everyday car, track car and 1/4 monster in one. It'll be 3700-3800 lbs which is 500 lbs lighter than the 808 hp Demon, therefore it won't need technically over 750 hp to out gun a Demon on the street, if owners of said Dodge are dumb enough to drive on the street. And yes, the showroom Demins are 808 hp. One must fork over 5-10k more for the Demon kit to get all the extra goodies and 840 hp ECU. It'll be a 85-90k car plus the extra go-fast kit and then mark up. It'll be a $105-115k car, according to a friend /Mgr at a Dodge store near me.

This is a strange leak. Why pixelate the other Mustang in the background? I mean, if you're going to leak some info, leak some info.

Fishy smelling, to me.
That is the same car with the door open not another mustang. But I do agree with the pixelation. It is all the way around the car. Even the windshield and the floor under the splitter is pixelated.

They're not blurring out another Mustang. They're blurring out a person standing next to this Mustang to protect their identity and possibly link this picture to a particular shop or team.

They don't want you to see the "Lethal" skull in the background.

I'm not impressed by that pic at all, and I call fake news till I see something more substantial.

Now that the Dodge Demon has been made public.
I've been thinking that Ford might name the next 'Stang, CobraJet?
Same as what we see run at the strip but with a IRS and full exhaust.

Cobra Jet is the name of their sportsman Drag Car.

The most likely name is Mach One, Cobra or GT500.

GT500 going to be twin turbo and more power than that demon thing

Ford better redesign the whole rear cradle and all of the components attached to it then.

It will be a 5.2 with a CPC and 2.65l blower. There may be a naturally aspirated CPC as a MACH I, as the GT500 will likely replace the GT350, opening a spot in the performance area. However, there may not be enough room with where the 2018+ GT is at power wise.

Interesting first post. Welcome to M6G :)

Your prediction is pretty much what I've been hoping for for the last 2 years. Only time will tell.

CobraJet would be a perfect name for a straight line bruiser to compete with the Demon.
The name carries a racing heritage from the '60's to current too.

..and BmacIL.

:gossip:

lol

Yeah....it's the thought of a potentially n/a Mach 1 that excites me though.....although I've just posted my thoughts (ramblings!) on that one in the other thread. I guess that one would be easier to hide as far as development and mules/prototypes are concerned......but there's been no "Mach 1" rumours for a loooooooong time now :(

Not a leaked photo of the new GT500 motor. It's just a regular GT350 with a Roush supercharger bolted to it. For reference, here is a Roush supercharger on a 2015 mustang GT. Note the same pulley and airbox.

Anyone seen a mule with heavy front camo that looks like maybe front wheels pushed forward?
Really rough and not typically used on public roads... 99% likely just rumor
