I'm trying to decide if I want a ceramic coating or a paint protection film done to my car. I don't do a lot of highway driving mostly city. But I want my almost 60k mustang protected. Especially since people these days don't respect other people's property. My tC had a HUGE key mark and my 2013 has a couple. So I want to be protected against that. But I also want to be protected against rock chips. And if I do the paint protection film the place does UV protection on the windshield(to protect the interior as well as if it gets a chip). Just want to know what you all have done to your mustangs if anything? :)

PPF on my hood (first third), back of side mirrors, back panel of rear wheels.

Reload on the rest of the car. Highly recommend the PPF and if you have the time or money CQuartz

I have Suntek PPF on the front bumper, guards, bonnet, 'A' pillars, mirrors and the front of the rear wheel arches - not a rock chip in those areas at all after sixteen months. I would highly recommend it.

Ceramic coating itself will do very little (i.e. nothing) to reduce the possibility of rock chips.

The factory paint on these cars seems to be quite brittle to say the least.

I heard a lot of good thing about CQuartz. Do you recommend PPF then CQuartz on top or just CQuartz?

Nothing is going to stop a hooligan with a key who wants to mess up your car.
That I know. Seems like people get jealous over people with nice cars. And they get jealous that some people work hard for nice things. Really makes me mad.

I haven't used CQuartz yet, just Reload (which does a great job of deepening the shine and water repelling)

My PF is SunTek - I don't add any sealant on top of it. Maybe later on.

If you have the time though buy some CQuartz and do it yourself. You'll save a ton of $$

I put 2 coats of CQuartz on my Shadow Black GT. It looks stunning and cleaning is a breeze. Provides great protection against common road grime. No so much protection when it comes to rock chips. Even with 2 coats its sustained some chips. Its better than nothing but its not as stout as film.

I have Ceramic Pro 9H which is similar to CQuarts. Its great for dirt and grime, but is susceptible to water marks if you're not careful, which are much more visible on my shadow black gt.

My installer did an expel partial for me, and polished the whole car.

I coated the whole car by myself when I got it home.

Not sure if the coating does too much over the xpel, but why not.

From what I understand is that PPF will actually heal with heat? Is that correct?
can only speak for expel ultimate as thats whats on mine but for all but a full blown tear it just fixes its self with some warm water poured over it.
with its warranty if anything actually manages to break through the ppf and cause damage to the car they cover the replacement/repair to the paint and part and refitting of the ppf.

and yes its key proof too :)
