Just a quick question. Apart from the fact that caniggia cut and sealed the back cover, I noticed that the tailights are completely sealed at the back side.
So, Ford assumes that there is no need to replace the leds?
What if it needs repair for any reason?

So the tailights are a completely "black box" ?
LED lights are supposed to be maintenance free for the lifetime of the car.

Yeah, the LEDs will last more than a lifetime, but the electronics and everything around them don't. I don't know how many times I have seen LED tail lamps where multiple LEDs were not functioning, or blinking on and off due to a bad contact at the LED. I just hope the quality has gotten better. And I am not talking of the Mustang tail lights but those of other brands like VW, BMW, and Mercedes among those.

Money making policy by car manufacturers. If one led fails you need to buy a complete new light assembly.

This.

It's not just with cars, call it the consumption economy.Or did you really think they couldn't make light bulbs that lasted more than 1000 hours? Hint: How often do they have to change light bulbs in traffic lights if they only lasted 1000 hours, and do you see maintenance people change them all every other month?

When I was a boy, my dad made me disassemble my bicycle down to the last ball bearing each summer, in order to completely clean, remove rust, de- and re-grease all moving parts. These day I can't do that anymore as most stuff is encased in plastic or rubber casings that you cannot open. If anything fails inside, you have to replace everything.

Brilliant! Thanks papinist!! I received my lights a couple weeks ago, but my car won't arrive until February. They will be going in on day one for me!

Speechless !

But I thought it was plug n play job. Now I really hesitate to do all this wiring by myself.
Not really plug 'n' play but it's not difficult if you know some basics. I spent about 6-7 hours to finish it but if you don't want perfection also in hidden places you can reinstall this in an hour or so.
Plus, I took my time because I have fun with wiring\splicing\ziptieing everything :D

Seems so. Hopefully some electronic guy like caniggia can do repairs!

I've recorded two videos (sequential and stock mode) but my internet connection is sh*t... It's uploading since 18:00 and it's not complete yet! (maybe 2 minutes videos)

Headlights installed and many pictures (and one video) taken.. but now I need bandwith for these videos!
Damn italian network infrastructure!!

Was the headlight install complex?
Easier than taillights, even if taillights was not difficult.. it's only me that took my time :)

Videos are not online yet..
