OK, so making progress on updating my 9 speaker OEM sounds, I just received my new Focal Access 1 165A3 door/A Pillar speakers with crossover. This is the replacement for the 3-way component system.
Questions:
1) Ford runs input wires to the door sub then runs both the 3.5" and A Pillar off the same set of input wires. I (think) they add some sort of in-line capacitor on the back of the tweeters rather than run a true crossover?
2) Focal Crossover has one pair of INPUT terminals and one each OUTPUT terminals for Woofer/Mid/Tweeter. So, do I need to connect both the Door Sub and (Tweeter/Mid) sets of inputs to the single Focal Crossover INPUT?
3) Is this why I see folks replacing their 3-way component door/pillar speakers with 2-way component systems?
I have the Focal 165AC rear deck speakers on the way as well and will eventually add a Sub woofer in trunk (spare tire compartment).
