Its exciting to know we are in for a major redesign after only 6 years. I wonder what it will look like? What kinds of engines, transmissions and telematics will be available by then. Could we dare see a "Hybrid" Mustang? or perhaps a true electric? just thinking of all the potential possibilities has me a bit lightheaded.. i'll go and sit down now.. lol :)

Oh this isn't a redesign.

The 2009-2010 transition, that was a redesign

This is a whole new generation shift.

2025 Cafe is coming. This seems logical. This is likely when well see alot of lightweighting and major updates to the current architecture .

If Ford ditches the V8 - never! Mine will be inherited for generations if that is the case.

Isn't it true that mfrs are allowed X number of vehicles that do not meet standards in regard to fuel economy? If so, V8s could simply become a more expensive and exclusive option. Then there is the hybrid tech being used in top exotics that could render some decent fuel ratings. Or we could be looking at turbo V6s I guess. Engineers and tinkerers always find a way. I read an article in Hot Rod (I think) way back in the 80s, about how the increased emission standards could make performance mods a thing of the past. People found a way around it and they will do it again. Whatever power plants look like 5 years from now, I have no doubt we will have some exciting choices.

Maybe we will see a tweaked Coyote for MY18-19 and then a new engine altogether in 20? That's my guess.

I'd be happy for the 7th gen Mustang GT to have an Ecoboost 6...........just as long as there's still an option for a V8, even if it's a more expensive, lower volume SE :)

My prediction : twin turbo for EB. Killing the V6 and doing a V8 supercharge out of manufacture.

Remember.......Mustang fans forced Ford to rethink the FWD non-V8 Mustang back in the early 90's. Fan pressure resulted in that car becoming the Probe instead.

If we want the V8 in the 7th Gen Mustang, we need to let Ford know :ford:

(no doubt they are reading this!)

Let the good times begin. We can wonder about:

1. Euro styling v. retro styling
2. Will it be smaller/lighter?
3. Could we still have a V8?
4. Will it still have the MT82?
5. Will a decent sound system be available?
6. Track handling or drag racer?
7. It's gonna cost HOW much?
