Made 4 - 5 passes on Sunday with my rebuilt AMP MT82 and it felt good and stayed together (consistent 10.4x - 10.5x). DA was over 2700 and I was shifting around 7500. More testing to come - with better air and 7800 - 8000 shifts I think 10.2x is easily doable. I'm doing this with 12psi of boost from the little Vortech V3 with (almost) FREE BOOST from the Billet tensioner from American Racing Solutions. Forget hacking up your weak OEM tensioner to run an OD balancer, this thing is strong and will give you more consistent boost without the belt slip you are getting whether you know it or not!

Check with some of the supporting vendors on this site, they might offer a little better pricing. I agree it's not cheap but it's CNC'd from billet aluminum, provides 2X the tension as stock, and doesn't require the grinding for clearance. Look at the pricing for the 8-rib upgrade from Vortech and this is a relative bargain :D

we have these available, need to do more testing, but we did run our best last weekend with one.

the reg tensioner is fine, or the low profile if you have the 20% o/d.

we've ran the stock for years without much issue, but i am liking what i have seen so far

the boost graph looked pretty steady

I have the 8-rib as well, but this tensioner provides extra stability and consistency especially for MT82 cars (more "on/off" shock). :cheers:
Makes sense for sure.

Paxton 2200 shit itself after 2-3 test hits. Put my little Vortech V3 head unit back on and the ARS tensioner was doing work. DA was 1,300 with full weight PP premium car +240 lb driver. Contact beef if you want to make your Vortech / Paxton car faster by ditching the belt slip prone OEM tensioner

Damm nice run in that da,thats what im hoping for next weekend at the track although might not quite get that mph.

In-car video from the Z06 I was running on that pass. z got the holeshot and ran 10.5x but the little Vortech was too much on the big end

Nice pass, ive gone 9.3 at 147 on the stock tensioner. They seem to work just fine.
