I had my 350 setup with the FP recommended chassis settings AKA alignment done yesterday. The document says that the settings are for "optimal tire wear and handling performance". My only issue is the rear toe adjustment. It calls for a total of -.30 toe in. Is this not to severe? Would the tires not scrub even more???

For those of you who have and are running the FP specs, I could use some insight.

Thanks,

Harold

Haven't driven mine enough to tell if it matters.

On my Pcars .30 total toe in is normal and helps to put the power down and tighten up the rear end, i.e. not loose. When I was AutoX a GT3 I ran .20 total toe in and it rotated well but on track was a little loose for comfort.

Haven't driven much under these settings but yesterday alone I felt a big difference in steering feel and responsiveness. Tomorrow I will hit some back roads with more curves in the road and see how she feels. Thanks for the feed back.

Ford recommends 0.15+/-0.20 degree each side, or total split 0.30+/-0.20 degree. total split can be as much as 0.50 degree. The right spot might be more tire specific than the adjustment itself. That takes track time or skid pad testing to see what the car likes for a specific tire. Seat of the pants method may not be accurate enough, and you need the tools and equipment ready to make the setting changes.

Toe in promotes stability, toe out the opposite.

The more toe in or out promotes more tire scrub

Ford Performance recommends -.30 total - .15 toe per side or rather, .30, .15 toe in per side.

I just did a track day with 0 toe in the front and .03 or 0.6, can't remember, in the back. Can't say I found it spot on for my tastes (not that I have a wealth of history in different toe settings to reference), but... if we're talkin' toe... :)

What are you trying to say?
Ford Performance's "Road Course Alignment Reccomendations" call for -0.30* IN for both the GT350 and GT350R.

Less rear toe-in will make the car a little more responsive 'on-center' and will take out a little understeer in the car.

Just clarifying as you did not mention toe in or out in your reference to the FP recommendation. Normaly when a positive measurement is given in reference to toe it means toe out \ /

After a month of extensive testing with a GT350R DSC just released a firmware upgrade for their Magnetuner. Recommended alignment settings are:
Camber F/R -1.2/-1.0
Toe F/R +1.0/+1.0
Caster +6.9

+1* toe OUT front and REAR???

That's also half a degree less front camber than what FP recommends from their development testing.
