It's basically the same as 87/88 octane... I wish they would have stuck to e85 in all of the new stations.

There are Sheetz stations down here in NC that sell it and it actually is about 5 cents cheaper than 87. Did not try it even in my family car....

E15 is just the gas station being cheap, same as 91 octane. It will just cause, over time, older cars that are not setup for Flex Fuel to degrade faster. It is government-allowed BS, if I'm allowed a stage to proclaim. It will not make your car faster, just burn gas faster.

Why would you want to make less power by running E15?

Isn't E15 just regular gas? I'm from California, it's all 15% ethanol here.

If you can run Ethanol-free fuel, do it. Just run your Ethanol laced fuel down as low as you can before filling up with Ethanol-free. It's not wise to commingle.

Ethanol has a couple bad attributes: 1) it's a solvent and will "clean" the station's tanks/lines and will do the same to your fuel system. And I don't mean "clean" in a good sense. If the station's tank has any gunk in it, Ethanol will clean it there and pass it to whoever is pumping the gas at that time. 2) It absorbs water. While not necessarily an issue in a pressurized fuel system like automobiles, it's a PITA for outdoor power equipment, boats, etc. Absorbing water creates water that doesn't fire in the cylinder and it also causes rust that can clog carburetors or fuel injectors.

Additionally, Ethanol is about a third less efficient than Ethanol-free fuel, so your fuel economy suffers as a result.

My recommendation is to avoid Ethanol if you can. If not, then at least avoid E15, as most fuel systems haven't been adequately tested at that concentration to see if they're able to handle the 50% increase in Ethanol from E10 to E15 (10% concentration to 15% concentration).

Open your gas cover and look at it - the Mustang is designed for E15. Additionally there are lots and lots of us running e85 with zero issues.

It's 87+E, not worth it.

Stick to 93 here in FL, we have some of the best pump gas. 91 if you can't find it (CA, etc) or E85 w/ tune on GT, or E30 tune on EB (93+E85 mix to 30% E content). Stock ECU can account for up to E15.

PS: Ethanol has benefits like burning at a lower temp, and higher octane which prevents knock. Our turbo cars love it. And, while not as power efficient as regular gas by volume (read less MPG) the power on E85/E30 is worth it.

put in 2 gallons of e85 with 10 gallons of 93 octane and your ecoboost will run like a scalded dog. My math says that'd be about e17, but, should boost that 93 octane to 94/95 range.
