IMO - the only angle to take is the car overheating during regular spirited driving and the marketing speaking the opposite.Yes I own a 2016 tech pack
This is my first Ford
As far as transmission damage is concerned, you don't need to go in limp mode, 20 degrees outside of normal temp for transmission and fluid looses 50 percent of its life span and efficiency. Those who have the ability to monitor temp are seeing them at well over this range, more into I believe 40 degrees.
My dealer wasn't giving me a price similar to WBL for the transmission and cooler, trying to negotiate.
So my point is this isn't a track issue and anyone beating up Ford over this will get more traction from this angle than the track issue, maybe.
I believe I am the only successful person to go that route and have a full Buyback to date. I almost got into a serious accident shifting from the passing lane. Almost got rear ended by a large truck coming on hot when my car hit limp mode and had to cut off another car shifting into the right lane to avoid it.
My daughter was in the car at the time, she was 14 months old. That is when I knew the car had to go back.
Good luck with your negotiation.
