Updating my Buttonwillow Raceway time.

2016 Ford Mustang GT base manual w/ PP
Buttonwillow 13CW
2:02.01 (1/28/2017)
Brake Pads/rotors: stock + G Loc R16 Pads
Tires (Size & Model): OEM GT350 wheels & 295/30/19 Yokohama AD08R
Suspension: Stock dampers + BMR sway bars + Swift Spec R Springs/MM Camber Plates
Other Mods: GT350 rear diffuser and FRPP Sport (for GT350 diffuser) + MGW shifter

I'm pretty sure there is a sub 2:00 with stock dampers with some more seat time. Still getting used to the constant shifting and experimenting with different brake points and apexes.

I think I have a couple of blown shocks from curb jumping at RA during the practice day on Friday. I'll check them out soon. Overall, a fun weekend shaking some rust off. I'm moving back to the Southeast this summer so I should be making it to more RA events again.

Well somebody was busy over the winter. 1:38 great time at Atlanta by the way. I synced your video to mine from Atlanta in November last year so I could watch them side by side. It was interesting to see the two side by side. If you have dual monitors give it a try.

What did you have Lund set your rev limiter to?

Guess I just realized this thread exists... nice!

I'm currently officially just a Novice, Novice Solo at a track I've been to already. I may be given the go-ahead to advance officially to Intermediate later this year with my usual track day group (JZilla Track Days) and, I guess, that'd translate elsewhere except maybe NASA/SCCA. I want to advance to Intermediate with "track day groups" before I start pushing up official HPDE levels in NASA - from those I've spoken to, I've concluded this is a smart approach given I have a personal goal of competing in time trials and maybe trying out for this Optima shindig one day.

Without a doubt I've spent more money on my suspension than my skill can utilize but... I probably should have become a suspension engineer for a career instead of a f'ing consultant. I really enjoy suspension stuff floating through the brain and working on it, so I find a reason to do more. I've been able to restrain myself from buying high-dollar coilovers, though... so far. Haha.

Note: no real power mods/tune in these (just aFe dry panel filter and Solo Performance Mach XV catback).

Thanks Dave! Hoping to be faster, but I'm fine with the time for now. It was a fun weekend. Good idea on the video. I'll have to check that out. I had my traqmate all set up... and realized I left my formatted SD card at home. :( Looking forward to NCM with MVP in a few weeks.

The rev limiter is set to 7500. Obviously, I need to install OPG's or do better at keeping it off the limiter. I installed the GT350 intake and throttle body last summer and played with the tune in hptuners for a while. I was able to get all the surge out and the car running really well driving around, but couldn't get any dyno time at a reasonable cost around here to dial in WOT pulls. I put the stock throttle body back on and went with Lund. I'm sure the lund tune is better than mine, but I'd still like to play with mine some more one of these days when I have time. Overall, I'm happy with their tune.

The IRS stuff got installed a couple weeks before Road Atlanta as I'm trying to get rid of a corner exit issue before going to big tires. The AutoX this weekend should really show if the issue is resolved or not.

I did a bunch of IRS stuff over the winter, lowered the car a little more, upped the spring rates and added a bigger front bar. I also did the GT350IM and a Lund tune on the stock TB. I have my rev limiter set to 8000 and make sure to shift before 7500. I do not want to get any where near the limiter if I can. OPG and timing gear are on the short list of add-ons but I am fairly sure the stock clutch is on borrowed time so my plan was to deal with the major motor mods when the is on the rack for the clutch. I am hoping to make it through this year with the stock clutch but am prepared for the worst should it not make it.

I am really ready to get back on track at NCM, I will see you there for sure. We have about 6 guys headed down from STL (most are in Vipers) and we will be convoying together Friday afternoon. Hoping for good weather, should be a hoot. Your welcome to pit by us and hang out, it is a great group of guys.
