Do people let their Mustang warm up before giving it the beans?

Do you tend to use the coolant temp display below the dial, or do you switch the screen to show oil temperature/pressure every time and go from there?

Oil temperature screen is the only one I use. I take it easy until I am in the green (usually 5 mins or so).
Ditto... then it's over to the TPMS screen to watch the tires (tyres ;)) heat up.

That is all...

The additives in the oil don't start working until around 200 degrees, so I would not hammer it until the oil temp is up.

I retired after many years in the battery business and went to work for a performance oil company and until then, I thought cooler was always better, boy was I wrong!

Waiting for th oil to warm up to the green normal area is nice but not needed. I usually watch the cylinder head temp and let the car idle until it's 100 degrees or above. If the top of the motor is 100+ the bottom end is plenty warm to drive normally. If you notice your car will idle at about 1k until cylinder head temp hits 100 then it idles down to normal.

I'm assuming that's 200°F rather than C? :)

If my EB has been sitting all night, I drive conservatively for at least 5 minutes to warm it up. I don't let it sit and idle if I can help it. I normally don't check temps anymore if it has been on the road for at least five minutes. The temps are usually nice and warm by then.

Could anyone post a pic of the oil temperature display? I've not got my Mustang yet - just curious.

I never wait for it to warm up. I just start driving and wait for it to warm up "while driving" until I start beating on it.
