Grille looks good. The pony is a bit to big on the new model for me anyways. Even though im not generally a fan of badgeless cars, this mod makes it look better.

Bugger, I was hoping it was much easier to delete the emblem from the grill.
Glad to see you DIY, don't know if I'll be game to chop mine up, might have to keep a look out for some nice grills when mine finally hits these shores.

That's why if I try it I'll be buying an extra grille and not cutting my original grille. At only $45 it's pretty cheap. Also LethalPerformance says they just throw away the sections they cut out so I'm hoping to get some from them even cheaper. Hopefully free.

I know! I can't give up now

glued up last night and did my initial sanding just now. Will need to add more glue or some spot putty. Also bought a can of duplicolor trim spray paint.

Woo-hoo! That much closer. How's it looking as far as the curve you mentioned? What epoxy did you use? How is it holding up so far? Any advice or tips for anyone else wanting to attempt it?

Don't have any problems now with the curvature. I stuck it in my oven at 300 degrees for 3-6 minutes before gluing and made slight adjustments to get everything aligned.

i bought this plastic epoxy from loctite. but need to do some research if i can use spot putty to help fill the rest.

As far as the glue holding up, it is extremely strong. Feels like the rest of the honeycomb. I would say a dremel and a lot of patience is all you need to do this. Maybe a mask for the fumes and dust that kicks up when you sand.

Pretty much done, added more glue last night and sanded it down today. Then finished with 400 grit sand paper. All I need now is to paint and install.

Debating if I should go ahead and open up the air inlet side for the intake or open up more of the honeycomb mesh.

After painting it you can really see the slight imperfections. I'll need to go over it with some spot putty to smooth everything out.

I'm so jealous. Can't wait to see it installed. As for opening up zome of the honeycomb, I'd say no. You've already opened up a lot of it just by removing the pony.

So what are you planning on doing with the grille you currently have on the car?

I'll probably sell it to pay for other mods I want :p

Haven't had much time to work on the grille. I applied some bondo to smooth out the rough areas and started sanding it down with 80 grit.

Looks like a lot of sanding. This project might be beyond my skills.
