Does anyone have any information on how to hard wire a V1 radar detector to a 2015 Mustang GT review mirror?

video or pictures would really help... I've never been called smart... I ate too many crayons when I was a kid... I liked the blue ones... :eyebulge:

Yep, With a mirror tap it's simple, see this post for the pins to use:

FYI,

I just installed the MT-2009 9", worked flawlessly in this config does NOT turn off in reverse. It also turns on/off immediately instead of the 10 minute 'comfort battery drain' BS Ford has going on with accessories in the 12v plug.

I do have 401A/ACC, not sure how either of those packages affect the mirror pins though, if at all. I should note the mirror tap leads ended up fitting on mine facing up, on the top side of the molex pins.

Used these pins which I checked myself with my multimeter:

No, the Mirror Tap has lead that just push into the connector plug to "tap" the power. They go in w/o any damage.

The 2000 series works for our cars and has the right size prongs. I got a 12" version and use my V1 windshield mount just to the left of the mirror.

The pins above in the pic are for reference only, they are not the correct ones for power for our cars, instead use the graphic I first link for power and ground.

This is great, thanks! I want to install a dash cam powered from the rear-view mirror. Now the only thing I need to figure how to step down the voltage from 12V to 5V for the dashcam... In worst case I just open the step down cigarette lighter adapter comes with the dashcam and put the electronics into a smaller box...

I've got a V1 and an Escort Redline that I switch between. Anyone know if BLIS sets off detectors in their car?

False alarms with my V1 has been a problem for me that has gotten worse in the last couple of years. This is due to increased use of K/ Ka bands (for alarms, door openers, etc.) and the nanny systems in some new cars
Valentine One are now offering software improvements to improve capability. This includes Traffic Monitor Filter and the “Junk-K Fighter” to eliminate false alarms caused by lane-change warning systems (BLIS, etc.) in some newer cars.
Get the serial number off the back of your V1 and go their website. Find the “More Power” / “Performance Upgrades” section on the right-hand side of their home page. Enter the unit’s SN where requested and follow the prompts to find out what software upgrades your V1 may require.

I hard wired mine in by tucking the wire under the head liner to the passenger side a-pillar, under the edge of the a - pillar trim then down the a - pillar under the door gasket. Where the passenger kick panel meets the dash I feed the wire under the dash. It is completely hidden from view.

There is a ground point above the fuse panel but it's in an awkward position to get a lug under. Right there in the open is one the firewall studs that the heater box is mounted to so I attached the ground wire there. The connector for the blower motor is right there on the bottom of the heater box with clear access and it has switched power, I tapped in there for power. I used a terminal like in the picture above so I didn't have to cut into any of the wiring.

I removed the suction cups from the mounting bracket and used double sided tape to attach it to the black dot area on the windshield above the mirror.

Yeah the V1 is a lot worse on false K compared to my Redline. I remember getting an email a few weeks ago about the junk k fighter but I haven't plugged my serial in yet. Guess I'll take a look over the weekend
