Road coursing FI 650~ RWHP w stock Motorcraft fluid. So much chemistry proven with seals and all elastomers etc there is no way I would risk changing it. Change after every other weekend.
Just my experience...

Yeah, hitting limp mode at 250f at the end of sessions late in the day. I’ll be installing a Mishimoto trans cooler this winter.

Hey buddy! 2 questions

1) Does the Motorcraft Mercon LV really need to be changed that often?

2) All 6r80 s550 mustangs have an OEM tranny cooler. Is that what you're using or an aftermarket one? Mine with the OEM one sees 230f after 10 mins of road course here in the Philippines..

1) Does the Motorcraft Mercon LV really need to be changed that often?
After 40K on the street (20+ 1/4mile passes), it was plenty dirty.
I'm looking at 30K changes w/ filter now that I have a drain plug.

Dude 250F trans temp? Uh... really short tight course?

Move the stock cooler to wheel well or add a second cooler in series in wheel well.
It might not be needed if you remove lower front grill and rear coping,bat cover.
Single stock location I hit 232 with Whipple during 20min session and just change fluid and filter after weekend.

I can say that cooler in wheel well is easier to damage from tire chunks or debris if no liner.. I used junkyard stock cooler w cut lines still attached so easy to add in series. I bypassed the second one after damage during summer and wont replace it till next summer. My first mounting brackets were crap too.
