All about MPG. With the A10 and it's better fuel economy they had little choice but to adjust the gearing for the manual. Can't afford for the manuals to skew the MPG fleet average too much.

Manuals are a dieing breed guys. Enjoy them now while they last.

I'm going to wait till I see full reviews, and hopefully official gearing numbers, but this is making me wonder if I should go with a 17 or GT350 instead of the PP2 now.

I'm quite certain my estimated ratios are correct, see for yourself if you wish.

So basically they got rid of 3rd gear and moved everything over while also making 1st not as tall.

I like the first gear change, if it's taller indeed...but the other part sucks big time.

I'm quite certain my estimated ratios are correct, see for yourself if you wish.

For the PP2 that sounds like the initial post (in that other thread) guessing MPH wasn't to far off.
Assuming 3.73 rear and 26.2in tire @ 7400rpm

3.24 - 47.73MPH
2.10 - 73.64
1.42 - 108.9
1 - 154.64
.81 - 190.91
.62 - 249.41
It appears anything above 4th gear is useless for anything other than MPG.

i know some manual swap were done with longer gears and they just lowered rear gear to compensate. I have heard many time the 3.73 with mt82 and boost is too much. did anyone here about strength upgrades?

I haven't seen anything about strength. Besides gear ratios, just this:

"Responding to customer criticism about shifts sometimes being hard to execute, Ford has also taken the liberty of changing out the MT82-D4’s synchromesh rings, revising the cone angles and tooth geometry to help slide into gears a bit easier."

1-4 this is almost identical to my 5 speed Mach 1 so I should feel right at home.
Loved ripping though gears with the 4.10 I had, and your right they look like the 3650 but +0.1 for 1-3, 4th is identical and 6th is almost he same as the 3650 5th.

That might be the thing to do with this one. Would that make 1st way too short though?
Probably not, I know some guys would run 4.30's. and 4.56's

Mach 1 gears were 3.38, 2.0, 1.32, 1.0, .62. I look forward to the double over drive. When cruisng between 45-60mph 4th was to short and 5th was to tall. I'm actually thinking when the stock sc2's wear out (which will be fast) ill do the slightly taller 305/35/19 tire.
Sounds like a good plan. I really enjoyed the Mach1's gearing.
