Aluminum or carbon fiber driveshaft owners please chime in

Did you get extra NVH with the new driveshaft?

I am considering an aluminum or carbon fiber driveshaft (leaning toward QA1 carbon fiber), but I do NOT want extra NVH. It seems like swapping the driveshaft is a crapshoot when it comes to NVH. Some people get more NVH, and some people don't. I had a 2009 Mustang with aluminum D/S and no issues, but maybe I was just lucky. No doubt manufacturing processes, tolerances and QC have improved since then. Please share your experience, the brand and type of D/S, and if you think it was worth it.

I bought a used DSS aluminum shaft recently from a fellow forum member. I couldn't be happier. I haven't noticed any additional NVH. I ran the 1/4 last weekend and was up to 134, and all was good.

I’ve gotten more NVH after installing the BMR polyurethane differential bushing lockouts in addition to stiffer motor mounts.

I've experienced far less vibrations upon going to dss c.f. dampened . Stock ds would cause vibrations if lugging along on 6th gear acceleating from 1,600 rpm to 2,000rpm and occasionally any gear engine braking from 3,000 rpm to about 2,500 rpm. I still get the occasional vibration, but far less when compared to stock.

Sorry... What's NVH? EDIT: Ok... "Noise Vibration Harshness". Cool.

Because of drive line vibes I maybe installing an aftermarket driveshaft in the future. I have a aluminum FMS DS on my 95 and it's been great.
