Hi guys,

Didn't really like the stock honeycomb, and the full delete seemed a little too unprotective for a daily driver so I think I found a good middle ground.

BEFORE:

Here's a small write up:

MATERIALS:

2' x 5' piece of 1/4" steel mesh, found at your local hardware store for about 50 cents a foot. ($2.50)
1 can of black PlastiDip found pretty much anywhere nowadays. ($5.99)
2 tubes of Amazing GOOP Adhesive (the Automotive variant works) found at the hardware or autopart stores. ($5.99 each).

Total: $20.47!

HOW TO:

Follow this video on how to remove the front bumper cover and the upper and lower grilles:

[ame]

After that, follow this video on how to cut/sand the grilles:

[ame]

After that, flatten out your 2' x 5' mesh and using your grilles as a template and a pair of tin snips, cut out all the six pieces of mesh you will need (3 for the upper grille and 3 for the lower one).

Once you have your 6 pieces, bend them and cut some more (if needed) around the grille openings until you have them covered. If you need an idea on how your pieces should look, follow the templates on the second video I linked.

Finally secure all your mesh pieces to the grilles using zip ties and glue them together. Use something to support the lower grill so the top part doesn't collapse like so:

Then wait around a day for everything to set and installation is the exact opposite of the removal process.

Here's how it looks after it's all set and done:

Let me know what you guys think! Good or bad, doesn't matter.

I used the same conpany, different mesh, great results. Hardest part, waiting for the epoxy to cure. It gives it that open grille look I loved on the previous GT500, but keeps debris out.

Sweet! I want to top mine off with that Howler badge... Hopefully the SCS guys will have them back in stock soon. :frusty:
