I think I saw some pics of Gibbo205 's car having a slightly lesser case of this... then he put some covers over them (from somewhere like AliExpress or something).

Edit... yup it was... see post #3755 in the 'What did you do to your UK S550 Mustang Today' thread.

There's no rust on mine whatsoever. Built Nov 2016 but kept in a garage since April maybe that's why

Mine were starting to go rusty pretty much from day-one and squeaked. So covered them with grease. Rusting has halted and quieter now.

I've heard something like a 'chain grease' is good to use.

And the hinges are protected from the wet. Just imagine what the underneath will look like!

I put a dark anti-rust compound on it and touched it up with black paint.

I've noticed it on mine. What miffed me a bit was that the dealer had not put on any protecting lube during the service.

Mine has no protection either. It gets smeared all over the range rover hinges when that's serviced. I've just bought some lithium grease to slap on hoping to prevent this happening to mine.

Gulp!

I sent my 20 year old BMW to the local guy for a much needed Oil service. No rust on the old dear but even he carefully greased and lubed the door hinges.

I was impressed with his attention to detail.

I washed the car today so I coated the hinges in acf50 at the same time.
