I'm thinking that Ford will go with a Boss 429 as well. They've already used the GT500 name a second time. Now it's time to pull out another model from the past that they haven't used yet.

Unless they are coming to the table with another engine to support it i don't think the 429 is going to happen. The 302 worked because they were running a 5.0 in the car. Calling a car a 429 and putting in something other than a 429 for me would be an unjust reincarnation

I still believe the engine will be called the EccoBeast and will be a Twin Turbo. As for what they will call the car itself is anyone's guess! I'm not convinced it want just be Shelby GT500. It is a known name and easily marketed. After the success of the Shelby GT350 why change.?

It could be 4.29 liters with twin turbos, or actual 429 c.i. with a blower.

I'm a little tired of the 5.0 stuff. We've had too many years of 5.0 liters and I'd really like to see something different come out. I think Ford needs to go bigger c.i. or go with Eco boost on their small V8s.

They are building the 7L truck engine at the Windsor plant. They plan on building 125,000 a year. Could make new heads for it and ship it down to Flat rock. We'll see...anything is possible, at least I'd like to believe it is

Indeed. The return of "5.0" was cool and it was a huge upgrade over the 4.6.

But that was 7 years ago. In biblical times, that meant it was time to give the land a rest and plant elsewhere.

5.2+ is the new hotness. And the "+" is always a plus.

I think its gonna be $69,999 starting MSRP. With packages possibly reaching upto $85k. Then add in the "normal" ADMS of $10k to $20k and we are lookimg at a $100k mustang.

that would be a shame. I think the appeal of muscle cars is the everyman attainability. Or in other words, no snob appeal.

If they build a halo stang that come in around 85k with bells and whistles and it runs with Z06s, gtrs, 911 turbo, cars costing 2-3 times the price then I'd say it fits the mold. The problem isn't ford, it's their dealers taking advantage. That is primarily out of Fords control unfortunately. I sure would like a SE car with a wide body that can fit 335 tires! That would be awesome
