Props to you for putting in the leg work to atleast try.

What about using your Y's but cutting the tips way down? Just a thought looking at the pics. But yeah, it's a tight fit.

My exhaust guy said even if he cuts off the exit back to the hanger, that 1.5 inches or so off too, he may have to even shorten the pipe going from the midpipe to the axleback to get enough room. Removing some of that exit pipe still only leaves about 3-3.5 total inches before the metal on the fake tips removing some of the exit

And remember that the piping is 2.5, so yeh, that's just way way too tight; and you dont want the piping touching the valance metal clanking every bump.

And about $250 since it's a bit more work, but still only $1000 in and not $1800 for the Ford Racing so....

It's just too tight and Ford (and Ford Performance) clearly wanted it so only their muffler design could fit.

The only option would be to unbolt the built in tips (there are 4 bolts holding them on) and use Y double wall 4 inch tips; then you have plenty of room to play with and can clamp on; but I really want to preserve the OEM look. And tips even on the cheaper side start at $150, so paying my guy for an OEM look a few more bucks is ok with me.

The valance looks too good on the car in person to mess with

Roush axlebacks with MRT H pipe.

Just had Y pipes custom bent and welded onto the Roush mufflers for the 350 valence.

All completed. $725 for the valence and $250 in exhaust work.

Didn't need to buy the $1800 Ford Racing axleback with valence kit. Also saved $800 and is way louder than the Sports.

Sounds like a Roush with H anywhere on Youtube. Only thing that changed were the tips; nothing that changed the sound.

Any adjustments needed with the exhaust or was it just a matter of welding on the tips?
What was the lenght the tips?

Just bending the hangers a tad to make it sit higher. He had to cut off some of that 2-2.5" off of the exit (about 1" it looked like) after the hanger to make room to weld the tips on. Nothing major other than some basic pipe cutting for the mufflers themselves.

The tips were custom bent and welded. The hardest part was the alignment, checking and trimming a bit more and fitting and back and forth.

I can measure later when the car cools off (the fake tips get relatively warm too so it's all pretty warm in that area)

looks really good, I'd personally do actual tips welded on the mufflers and delete the fake tips, but that's just me

You can buy ones that should clamp on http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/30974/10002/-1

2.5" in, dual 4" out, dual wall tips. 7.5" long should fit too.

I wanted to retain the OEM look though. There's a lot of unknowns with those like how far apart the tips are since there is a bit of plastic above and below in between each pair of tips in the valence. If not perfect they wont fit.
